1  Electric Blue Dancing Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by I love needles on: April 20, 2009 11:53:54 AM

I spent a big portion of saturday sewing and fitting this dress, as I was supposed to go clubbing with a friend that night. She ended up canceling, but the dress turned out awesome.
I poked myself with pins so many times, it's not even funny. Well maybe it's a little funny. At least I didn't bleed on anything.
I started out with 4 rectangles like in the text tute for the green mini dress but my ribs are smaller than my hips so there was a lot of fitting involved and I did the top/sleeves way different, too.

2  Blue shirt drafted by me in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by I love needles on: March 11, 2009 09:08:03 AM
I drafted this pattern because my daughter has really long arms for her age I guess. All her shirts are turning into 3/4 length sleeved ones.

The seam running across her chest is also across the back. I think next time, I'll leave the back plain. the neck edge, sleeve edges and the hem are unfinished. I'll put the shirt through the laundry a couple of times to see how it holds up.

7  commisioned messenger! (big pics) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by I love needles on: January 24, 2006 02:32:47 PM
I sent an email out to a few of my friends to let them know about my etsy shop, and one of them got back to me saying my bags looked really great, but she needed a different size messenger,  She asked if I would make her a custom messenger bag and she gave me the measurements she wanted.  I said of course and got to work.  She's coming to pick it up tommorrow, I hope she likes it!
This is the bag on me:  (Yes, that is an 8 months pregnant belly peeking out from behind it)
oops, I thought I did a better job of cleaning the mirror, sorry.

Close up of the ribbon decoration:

Front pockets under the flap:

I used stitch witchery under the ribbon before it stitched it down.  I didn't even discuss the ribbon with my friend, I wanted to surprise her with it.

8  Sewing like a madwoman... (IMG HEAVY) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by I love needles on: January 12, 2006 06:54:32 AM
I've been working on a lot of different purses because I've been planning to open an Etsy shop.  I've been having lots of fun. Sorry about the huge pictures.
This is a large totebag, lined with golden yellow satin:

This is a denim messenger bag, I embroidered the stars on there and the lining is kind of silky and is the exact blue of the stars:

Same messenger bag, the fabric is kind of a reddish gold and this one is also lined in the yellow satin:

There are 2 pockets on the sides, for a cellphone or pens.

Small messenger bag, the color is a bit off in the picture. It's more of a buttery yellow. Lined in pink moire, it has a pocket inside and on the back, So it's actually reversible.

Large messenger bag. The pocket on the front is slightly crooked, but I still like it:

9  PINK wallet (BIG pictures) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by I love needles on: January 12, 2006 06:38:36 AM
I made this wallet yesterday! It has 6 card slots, 2 large pockets for bills and coupons, receipts etc. And a large zippered coin pocket.  It turned out even nicer than I thought it would!  The fabrics match, the seams are straight, my hubby even said it looked like something you'd see in a boutique.
So I'm pretty proud...

10  baby dress for girl on the way! in Knitting: Completed Projects by I love needles on: January 12, 2006 06:32:03 AM
I'm expecting a baby girl at the end of February and I've been knitting away on lots of girly things.  This dress is for next year, it'll be too big for this summer.  I got the pattern from "minnow knits, too!"
from the library. It's knit with mercerized cotton.
