1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Resin pieces on: July 29, 2013 10:58:49 AM
I've been admiring some resin pieces via pinterest, and couldn't wait to try it. I used 2 part mix, and had a little trouble. First, I didn't realize there was such a thing as "mold release", and I used the wrong molds. So I broke a couple of my pieces in attempts to get them free! But, you learn from your mistakes! Here are my pieces that made it out alive!

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Meet: Turanga Leela on: July 11, 2013 03:55:52 PM
My boyfriend is a Futurama fanatic! So, the crafting bug struck me, and I decided to modify the Poppet pattern to make Leela. She has her flaws, and i'm still not all too happy with her hair, but I think she looks pretty good! Opinions appreciated =)

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Any Nascar Fans?? on: May 23, 2013 02:49:18 PM
My favorite driver, Martin Truex Jr., started a contest asking fans to send in a "good luck charm" to help him get to victory lane. After a lot of thought, I decided to make a replica of his car out of polymer clay. The finished product is barely bigger than a quarter. I mailed it today, and am patiently waiting to see if he picks it! Let me know what you think.

I bought a pattern for dog clothes at Joann's during a 5/$5 sale. I finally got around to trying it, and it turned out pretty well =D

Showing off her too big hood.

Bad hair day, but still cute!

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Meet Alice on: March 12, 2013 07:35:58 PM
I'm new to the world of doll making, so I have a lot to learn! But, here is my Alice in Wonderland inspired rag doll (my first!) I have plans to attempt a Mad Hatter next Wink Hope you like her!

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My First Poppet!! (img heavy!) on: March 06, 2013 01:51:27 PM

After many many hours of frustration, my first Poppet has finally came to life! She has her flaws, but it gives her personality, and I had so much fun making her. She is entirely hand-stitched, and made from a knit fabric. Couldn't find suede anywhere! Please tell me what you think! =)

I started with the body, because I was a little nervous to make the head or put the cover buttons into the arms/legs.

Next, I did the arms and legs, tail, and then the head.

Added the eyes.

And just for anyone interested, the eyelashes on the left (on this poppet) came from Walmart for over $2. The ones on the right from eBay, 10 pairs for $1.83! I will be ordering there from now on.

Jointed/sewed everything on. Not done perfectly, but acceptable for a first-timer, I suppose.

I made the hair using a DVD case. Wrapped it around several times, tied a knot in the center, then cut the end.

Sewed on the wig.

Made a dress. Not my best work, had a lot of trouble with it actually. 0.o But... Poppet, complete =D

Still haven't named her. Nothing has clicked just right yet, but it will come. Comments are appreciated. Good or bad. Hope you love her as much as I do!
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Peacock Yarn Wreath on: March 01, 2013 06:31:12 PM
I have a new found love for making yarn wreaths, and a love for anything peacock-inspired. So, I combined the two, and was very satisfied with the outcome!

Made using a standard 12" foam wreath form for $4. Took about 40 minutes total to complete. Feedback encouraged! =)
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Jack Skellington inspired sock friend (**first post!) on: February 04, 2013 03:20:45 PM
Okay, fellow crafters! This is my first post, so I can only link the pics! After making a zillion sock monkeys, I upgraded to a sock Jack Skellington! Hope you'll give me your feedback! =D
