Thank you all for the compliments!

I have indeed decided to embroider my daughter's enthusiastic stamps so they will be a permanent part of the piece. :-)

This is so nice! I really like the cowl and will probably try my hand at that pattern some time :-)

Also really cool that your friend will now have some really nice accessories handknit by her friend from wool from her sheep. Does it get any better? I don't think so...

This is my contribution to the challenge. I am a new member of Craftster and also found out about the challenge on Feeling Stitchy. My grandmother taught me needlework some 20 years ago and the challenge inspired me to pick up the needle once again and create an ode to my grandmother showing the line of descent from her to my children.

The photo was printed on cotton. I used DMC embroidery silk for the embroidery, as well as heirloom metal yarn lace and beads I inherited from my grandmother. My children contributed in their choice of colours (each flower represents one of my children although their names, unfortunately, as not as visible as I hoped - I will probably unpick this and use another colour) and gold yarn for the connecting links.

While I was away to a knitting club this evening my youngest daughter, who is three years old, made her own contribution by applying her "I like" stamp to the fabric. I am so grateful I took these pictures before I left! Hopefully I will be able to remove it if I carefully hand wash it... Otherwise there will be a decidedly modern touch to the piece ;-)

How lovely, this is really sweet!

I think you chose a great picture to do this with and the simplicity works so well...
