1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bobbin question on: January 27, 2013 11:36:22 AM
It loops once. I am pretty sure it is a scotch tension. It's a bumblebee wheel. I could be the issue. The wheel is probably fine. This is going to take me a while to learn I think.
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Bobbin question on: January 27, 2013 11:16:43 AM
Hi all. I just received my first spinning wheel yesterday. It did not come with good instructions for a beginner. My question is this. The instructions said that the bobbin needs to spin freely. When the bobbin is spinning, I cannot get to wool to wind onto the bobbin. The only time that I can get it to wind is when the tension is tight enough that the bobbin does not just freely spin. It can move with your hand, but it does not just freely spin. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Thank you for you help!
