1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Family Circle Easy Crochet Lacy Top-Need some help! on: April 22, 2008 06:46:55 PM
I know several people made this in a crochetalong awhile back but I didn't find the answer to my question.  I'm sure it's me and not the pattern as no one made mention of it.  But if anyone who has done this pattern could help me out I would appreciate it!
It says to chain 52 and you will be working even on 51 stiches.  Well, you skip 2 from the chain to do a hdc so wouldn't that by 50?  Anyway, my problem comes when I am doing the petal pattern repeats.  I never have the right amount of horizontal and/or vertical petals (16 and 17).  Does the turning chain count as one, am I skipping a stitch somewhere  Huh?  It usually says to skip the first hdc and go into the next, but I am never ending up with enough stitches.
I have ripped this out 3 times and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!  If anyone can decipher my rambling and can help, please do!!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Rolling Stones dishcloths *now with graphs!* on: August 15, 2007 06:25:06 PM
Would it be possible to show pics of what the back looks like?  I am working on these (first time working from a chart and trying to carry over yarn) and I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing.  The back of mine looks like a total mess!

This is a little bar closet in my den (I wanted a spot I could close off it it didn't turn out well!).  It's a little rough but it's the first time I've done something like this.  The base color was one I bought in the oops paint section.  Check out my Arizona Tea bottle I used as a reference.

I'm sure this is a dumb question but, I've never crocheted from a graph.  Does each square represent a stitch?  And what stitch was used, sc,dc?  Oh, and one other ? what size hook did you use?
Sorry for all the ?s! Huh

Those are totally awesome!  I am a HUGE Stones fan and have been trying to figure out how to do that type of crochet with the grid pattern and all.  I don't suppose you would be willing to share your pattern, would you?  Anyway, those totally ROCK!!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / New to Decoupage, quick question please help! on: June 29, 2007 07:58:09 AM
Hi! I'm ususally in the crochet board but am taking up a new thing!  I am planning to decoupage some cardboard magazine holders, have already cut out pics and glued down with modpodge.
question: Do I brush over the stuff I've already glued down with modpodge or is there something else I'm supposed to brush over the glued pics? Would appreciate any help!

This is beautiful!  I would love the pattern if you plan to write it out!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: First Crocheted item/"Afghan Squared" on: April 23, 2007 05:50:20 PM
That's beautiful!  I am actually working on the same pattern myself (colors and all)!  When I saw it in the Lion Brand Catalog I fell in love with it.  This is actually the first afghan I've ever done.  I'm going to give it to my Mom for Mother's Day.
Great job!

The pattern is NOT in the calendar.  The designer is posting here again and at Crochetville, and I even posted a question about getting this pattern when she posted a new design, but she has not responded.  Maybe she is avoiding my question?  She has been working on updating her website and maybe if enough people continue to ask about this pattern, maybe she will respond?
she has not posted on craftster since June 2006
