I would have never thought to use a larger hook and yarn! Thanks everyone I'll have to try these different ideas to see which one will work out!

I wasn't really sure how to title this but I found an awesome pattern on ravelry that I made. They are called Springtime Coasters by Doni Speiglehttp: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/springtime-coasters  I made them and they look so awesome and I thought it would be cute to make potholders/hotpads with the same design but bigger (maybe 7-8 inch diameter) but seeing as how I taught myself to crochet only a few months ago I am beyond lost when it comes to adapting a pattern to make it larger. I honestly don't even know if you can do such a thing but I thought I'd ask.

If anyone is feeling bored and would like to try and explain to me a possible way to do this, or be completely awesome and rework the pattern I would really appreciate it!! TIA!!
