1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Tutorial: Basic needle-felting overview on: June 03, 2007 04:58:28 PM
Is there some other, cheaper surface I can use to needle felt?  I can't find large pieces of foam where I live and the brush-thing used in olden days looks creepy.  Please advise.

Can you post a tutuorial for both skirts?  I'm just learning how to sew and your skirts look like great projects.  Thanks!

4  Illinois / Illinois: North / Knitted hat help on: December 20, 2005 10:57:36 AM
My friend Jane in New Orleans made some super amazing hats and I'm trying to sell them for her here in Chicago so I can raise some money for her new roof.  I'm having a hard time selling them on the street, and boutiques want such a giant cut that I can't handle it.  I've tried depart/ment, but it seems like most people just go there to shop for ideas.  Does anyone here have any ideas where I can sell these hats?  Thanks!
5  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Angora on: October 09, 2005 08:51:40 AM
Okay, I got a lion head rabbit instead of an angora.  He is SUPER cute and I can already let the bunny and my dog (a pit bull/boxer mix) out in the same room together and no one gets killed.  I think this rabbit will work out well because it will stay small and I can still attempt to spin it's hair, although I won't get as much as I would with an angora.  Oh well, compromises aren't always bad...
6  Illinois / Illinois: North / Angora rabbits on: October 04, 2005 08:15:04 PM
Hello All,
I am looking for an angora rabbit to love and cuddle and spin yarn with it's fur.  Does anyone know where I can get one?  I live in chicago but can travel just about anywhere, a four hour drive is probably my limit.
Thanks!

Hello,
I live in Chicago and am looking for an angora rabbit to keep as a pet and spin it's fur.  Does anyone know where I can get one?  They don't exactly sell angora rabbits at Petco...
8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / totally confused on: September 24, 2005 09:46:33 PM
okay, stupid question, I'm sure, but I can't find an answer anywhere.  If I have the raw wool fresh off the sheep, what do I do next?  Carding? Spinning?  What?  How do I clean it?  Is making yarn twisting hunks of wool by hand?  Please help!
9  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / What is the best type of sheep to get to make... on: September 24, 2005 09:11:15 PM
soft, beautiful wool.  A friend of mine is going to raise a sheep for me to spin wool from, but we are having trouble figuring out the best kind to get.  He will be living in Northern Cali, and would like a range (foraging) sheep.  Thanks for any info...
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to beautify this bag? on: August 26, 2005 10:28:07 AM
I don't have any bags with a moustache to show you, but when I looked at that bag I thought "Moustache!".  Maybe get a cheap fake one from a wig store or a costume store, and put it about 1/3- 2/3 the way down on the front of the bag.  If you can't find a moustache you could probably make a silly one out of felt.  Moustache!
