1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Tooth Fairy Pockets on: March 23, 2014 08:29:26 AM
My son recently lost his first tooth and I created these tooth fairy pockets to put his tooth in and put under his pillow. I had heard too many stories from friends searching for the tooth in the dark trying not to wake up their kids! These are easy with sew and no-sew options.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Framed Button Monogram on: March 23, 2014 08:24:56 AM
I recently made this monogram out of buttons for a gift. I can't wait to make one for myself now too. It was very simple and turned out great! You may even have all the supplies on hand - buttons, printed off letter, craft glue, frame, background fabric. Done!

3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Star Wars Characters with Perler Beads on: March 23, 2014 08:20:08 AM
I've found cross stitch patterns to work out well for perler bead designs. I struggle to find "cool" boy crafts for my son and I to do together, so we were both happy to work on these Star Wars characters with Perler beads.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Felt Superhero Masks on: October 10, 2013 06:36:11 AM
I made these felt Superhero masks for my son's 5th birthday party which were a big hit with all the kids. They were a fairly inexpensive but somewhat time consuming party favor. I contemplated gluing them together, but I'm glad I ended up sewing them so they were more durable.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Nail String Art on: August 21, 2013 08:16:42 PM
I tried my hand at creating some nail string art for a gift exchange I'm participating in. I hope my friend likes the monogram version and the chevron. This project was easy and fairly quick. It seems like I rarely get to say that about a project!

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Chain and Suede Laced Bracelet on: July 17, 2013 07:05:28 AM
This is a relatively easy DIY jewelry project. I had to re-lace a few times when I got the links going the wrong way, but even with that it took less than an hour. I needed some gold to add to my arm candy collection. I wish I had some brighter color suede on hand, but I have some chain left, so I may just have to make another one!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Bleach Pen T-shirt using stencils on: July 01, 2013 02:45:15 PM
I tried my first bleach pen clothing project this weekend. I made myself and my son a shirt to wear on the 4th of July. The stencils I used for mine (from the Martha Stewart craft line) reminded me of fireworks, but it's not too theme-ish, so I think I can get some wear out of it this summer. The process was really simple, so I foresee other bleach pen projects in my future!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / 4th of July Bleach Pen T-shirt on: July 01, 2013 02:42:23 PM
I attempted my first bleach pen t-shirt project over the weekend. It was super simple and I'm happy with how my son's shirt turned out. He wasn't all that thrilled about me trying to get a picture. Hopefully he smiles a little more on the 4th of July when he wears it!

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Aged Paint Monogram Letter on: May 16, 2013 01:40:43 PM
I'm really happy with how this Aged Paint Monogram Letter turned out. You basically use 3 different colors of paint and then create barriers between in spots with a bar of soap, and then sand down to create a distressed/aged look.

You can see a full tutorial here: http://sometimes-homemade.com/2013/05/13/aged-paint-monogram-tutorial/

This was the last of my Letter H craft projects to finish my mantel gallery wall.

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Easy Circle Inspiration Bracelet on: April 15, 2013 07:46:01 AM
These inspiration bracelets are quick and easy to make. Great gift idea!

Supplies needed: Circle charm, suede cord, clasp (I used a bar and ring toggle clasp).
