3  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Hey you Vegetarians! I have a question on: April 13, 2007 07:21:25 PM
as for the dissection thing there are definitely alternatives, you should never be forced to do something like that especially if you believe it's against your morals or rights etc.
just talk to your teacher in advance. when you find out about the dissection go and talk to them. don't stress!! being a vegetarian is only hard at first, but after awhile it just becomes second nature.
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Art of Makeup on: January 31, 2007 07:32:54 PM
solitarya;
you've got a good idea giong, but the makeup itself could be blended more, like onto your skin, and you could work on your liner/shapes of the makeup..it looks a bit sloppy,
but i really like the colours.

7  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Sources of protein for vegetarians? on: January 29, 2007 10:17:07 PM
I thought eggs have protein too...although maybe I'm just making that up.  a friend of mine just buys those protein shakes - the ones weight lifters use to bulk up.  apparently you can get some pretty tasty ones at the health food store.  also it's a good idea to take vitamin supplements.  not like you'll die without them, but they make me feel more perky.  I usually do a multivitamin, the B12, and also calcium.

eggs have protein. i make smoothies loaded with calcium and protein.
8  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: anyone else really hungry.. all the time? on: January 29, 2007 10:13:03 PM
when i get hungry randomly in the day
i eat those dessert tofu's. i especially like the sunrise brand in almond or coconut. they also have mango and plain. they break in half and half of it is great! i eat that with a glass of fortified soy milk.
also if i want something sweet,i make smoothies!
recipe:
about 8 frozen berries, any frozen fruit will do, even fresh fruit but you have to add in ice. i use frozen berries as opposed to fresh and ice.
half of the flavoured tofu
1 1/2 cups of original or vanilla soy milk, or orange juice works great if you want something really sweet.
a scoop of vanilla soy protein powder
blend it all together.
its delicious, and you get your protein and calcium and b12 in 1 shot! its a great breakfast drink and just whenever you're hungry!

if you drink soy milk it is fortified with B12, and per 250mL (1 cup), it is 50% B12.
also, tofu is a better source of protein than a hunk of cow. because in a lot of steak it is more fat and what not than actual protein. so if you eat tofu, you'll feel much better! and it will digest better! and NO CLOGGED ARTERIES.
