21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby Pinwheel Sweater on: August 12, 2006 05:38:40 AM
I turned half of this:

Into this:

Well, not the baby part, but this doesn't seem like the appropriate place to get into how she was made. Smiley It took just over a week and this pattern is a dream to knit up. There are lots more photos and discussion on my blog.

stef-in-stitches: thanks for the compliment on the color selection. I love how you made it even better with the high-contrast skinny-white stripe. Great job!

Okay, I think that makes sense now. I'm finding the directions to be slightly vague at some points. Smiley

Okay, I've almost finished the body of sweater #1 and feel like I have a good handle on how to do the edging, but I'm starting to worry about the armholes.

Do you leave the contrasting color yarn from the provisional cast-on in the sweater?? If so, why wouldn't you just do the provisional cast on with the arm color??

If you'd like to see my progress, there's pics on my blog. Smiley

My yarn arrived today! Woo hoo. Unfortunately, I figured out this morning that I don't have any of the needles necessary to start (but I could make the arm cuffs). And the baby wasn't up to visiting Joann's after Michael's didn't have any of the needles. Sad Tomorrow we'll pick them up though.

I'm not sure if I want to go light to dark or dark to light colorwise. Any suggestions?

O Adrienne! You got me with this one. This pattern was just too cute to only print out and plan to knit eventually, I just ordered the yarn to make 2 matching sweaters for my little ladies. Smiley

I'm doing a green and purple color scheme: Silver Birch, Dried Herb, New Leaf, Oregano, Lotus Blossom, Grape, Autumn Purple.

Hopefully I'll finish up a few other things before the yarn gets here so I don't have to put it off too long.

Woo hoo! I got my package from girlfriday today and it is amazing!! Here's some photos of my presents:

Fresh from the box.

Everything. Smiley

Close-up of stitchmarkers.

I'd asked for sock yarn and double-pointed needles and boy did she listen. She packed one skein of Trekking XXL, a skein of Opal sock yarn and a skein of one of her favorite local yarns in a yummy coral colorway. Plus needles and cutie stitchmakers. Smiley

Thanks girlfriday!! You ROCK!!

I rec'd my tote from shelikesstars over the weekend and I absolutely LOVE it!! Pics took a few days, but here they are:

In action:

I'd asked for a library tote if possible and this is an incredible answer to that request. The tote is sturdy and huge! In the second picture it's holding two trips to the library worth of books for me and my book-happy daughter. It's a winner!

Thanks shelikesstars! Smiley
