11  Life In Plastic, It's Fantastic! in Knitting: Completed Projects by megaknits on: May 24, 2006 06:28:35 AM
Especially if someone teaches you to knit your own clothes.

I found this pattern (& there are a couple more) on Lion Brand's website and couldn't help but bring my new friend to SnB last night. http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/ki-dollPoncho.html

You can print out the little yarn skein labels and 'idea book', the needles I made out of plastic q-tips (they recommend using japanese toothpicks). My 3yo daughter thinks it's awesome and wants more knit clothes for Barbie. There are a couple other patterns available in the 'Chicks with Sticks' line so we'll see.

Grin Grin  Woo hoo!!  Grin Grin
I finished this crazy undertaking this afternoon!!

Note the bottomost 3 white squares and their slightly off-whitey-ness, they were quite a headache. More about that on my blog.

After a horrible trip to buy some groceries this morning (being pregnant in Florida is no fun after March), I got an amazing tiny package from sugarblossom!!!

She made me a tiny stationary set, complete with tiny cards and sticker seals. All put together in a tiny pouch with a tiny working button. So much tiny cuteness!

Here's a pic of the whole shebang:

* Star notepad & star-shaped POST-ITS!!! - I'm addicted to Post-its.
* A bunch of glass stars
* And a starry bracelet for my 3yo daughter - she loves it and will not let it go!

Thanks Oop! You're a great swap partner. Smiley

15  FO: Boy Beanie & Seija Hat in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by megaknits on: March 16, 2006 06:45:45 AM
So I just started to crochet 2 weeks ago (I've been knitting for years) and I am mistified by how much faster it is. In a matter of hours I finished each of these projects. Smiley

I've gotten so 'hooked' that yesterday I ordered all of the yarn for the Color Bar blanket. Cheesy

16  Re: Star Shaped Baby Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by megaknits on: March 10, 2006 11:49:39 AM

I just completed this blanket as my very first crochet project. It took me just under 2 weeks and I used 1/2 a skein each of Caron's Simply Soft with a size J hook.

Thanks to everyone who really talked out all the tough parts of this pattern - I read it all and didn't have any big problems. Smiley

Happy hurricane day!! I rec'd a wonderful package from Simply today. Included in it was:

A fun pink round candle that apparently gave her quite a bit of trouble and a beautiful vase that she had modge-podged with tissue paper for a cool stained-glass look:

Super-cool crochet covered hangers - in action:

And the most adorable princess pillow for Alison, as proudly modeled here:

I rec'd both of my September wishes and finally got to take pics of them. First, I rec'd a beautiful blue necklace from Surfergrl311 with matching earrings:

Then I rec'd a cutey pouchy-wallet from Lexis. Its going to be perfect for times when I just need a little wallet and not a whole purse. She also included a bunch of little tag cards (cute!):

You are both awesome craftsters!
