331  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: clothes that doesn't fit on: May 23, 2005 11:27:28 AM
if you're not interested as having the skirts as skirts any longer- why not make a couple of cute bags??? it may sem bizarre, but by recycling your skirt for a bag, you'll be able to give these items a new lease of life, plus you'll not have the hassle of looking for materials- it's right there!

i don't really have any experience of this, but why not have a few holes to give it that vintage feel??? if there are vintage places in areas you don't want them to be, i'm sure the tape will be fine, and if not, your jeans will have lived as denim- and as this orange stuff! Grin

aww, thanks- sorry i'm new to the whole ppl replying, I thought no-one was interested *booho* !!!
this first bag is kinda experimental, i mean i'm a real novice to knitting- but i soo wanna make it better so i can create sum of the amazing stuff i've seen on here.
i'll knit a handle (from your advice) and then...well, what should my next project be?? i want something that's not too taxing on the newbie knitting brain, but something that will help my skills...any suggestions?

ok- thanks! i've used really thick wool- so i don't have to line, using the stockinette stitch has made it uber strong (i didn't know could be that strong!) it's basically a pattern off frugal knitting haus, the wool is pretty much like the wool in the picture- i've not made the front triangular shaped- i've just gone for a flap in different stitching, and i've used size 8 needles
