Does anyone know what this stitch is called, and where I can get the pattern for it? I saw it at the yarn store today, but she said someone had taken her last copy It was a scarf.

Okay, so I've been crocheting for quite awhile now, mostly amigurumi, but this is something that I'm still continually confused about. I always think I've figured it out, but I'm never quite sure.

Which side is the right side of a crocheted piece? I think it's picture two, but it's picture one that is the spiral side when you look downwards on it, if that makes sense, which is what always confuses me.

Someone clear this up for me, please!
