After my initial panic, I saw that the upper knife was broken. The top 'hook' had completely broken off. When the stump lowered, it was hitting the underside of the plate. I went and bought a new one $30 in Mexico City. Easily installed myself and everything is working fine. They didn't have the lower knife. But, I only have a little 'prick' on the edge. Nothing too serious. It seems to be working fine. The next time I am in the states, I'll pick up some extras if I can find them cheap. Thanks for the response. I appreciate the time you took. I was overlocking away and I think I might have hit a hidden pin. I'm not sure. The machine started 'clacking' and one of the needles broke. I replaced both needles but every time I go to use the machine there is a a clacking noise and it breaks the threads in both needles. I find that if I disengage the knife completely, the 'clacking' stops.

Is there anything I should/could check before I try and take this machine to a repairman. I am in a panic because I am in the middle of a Xmas project and have no idea where in Mexico City I could find someone to repair this before Xmas.
