11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / scrap paper christmas cards on: January 25, 2016 06:52:53 AM
Over the past holiday season I made Christmas cards for all of my friends, family, and Harry Potter Craftalong pals!  I challenged myself only to use paper from my massive bag of scraps.  I swear I don't seem to throw away any paper that is even remotely large enough to cut a shape from.  Grin  So the bag had lots to choose from!

(I free hand drew and cut all the pieces! No die cut things here!  And I also added stickers and stamps from my stash!  (I tried using some old rub-on snowflakes that I had...but it was a disaster!  I gave up and went back to stickers....lol!)
12  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Versatile Vegan Quiche on: January 23, 2016 04:53:18 PM
I made my first vegan quiche when the snow set in this week!  It was super yummy but next time I think that I'll add a little extra salt and then play with the flavor profile a bit. I think that I'll try adding chili powder and cumin.  And maybe I'll try another time with pine nuts and Greek seasoning, topped with little dollops of tofutti cream cheese!

Recipe:Versatile Vegan Quiche

I used collard greens instead of spinach, and then added thawed, chopped, frozen broccoli.  And I went crustless.  It was good!  It didn't come out of the dish so pretty when it was still hot, but after it was chilled it a came out beautifully.  It reheats in the microwave well too!  So I've had quiche for breakfast for a few days!  Such a treat!

13  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Rock Chip Jewelry and Stash beads on: January 19, 2016 06:09:14 PM
I have a ton of strings of various rock chips in my stash.  I finally decided to make gifts for people this Christmas.  These are the necklaces and bracelets that happened

and a Valentine's one for myself
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Word Bracelets on: January 19, 2016 06:04:07 PM
Had a TON of these typewriter letter key looking beads hanging around in my stash.  Some I had made into bracelets already but they were way too small for anyone to wear.  Over the holidays I let my mom raid all of my built up jewelry projects for anything she would like to have.  I have more than I will ever wear and some isn't even my style...I just had fun making it.  Well, she came across these too small bracelets and asked me to redo them to be big enough to actually wear.  It's a project long in the making.  I had a good time revamping some of these into cool "cuff" bracelets!

15  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Slytherin Snack Archive on: July 14, 2015 03:23:56 PM
This will be a place where all the past Slytherin Snacks posted on the Harry Potter Craftalong will be retired after they have been featured in the Slytherin Common Room.

All of these recipes are either vegetarian or vegan, will a heavy emphasis on vegan fair.  (I am slowly transitioning to veganism.)

I hope that these are super yummy for everyone who tries them.   Grin
16  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Abstract Zodiac w/Watercolors (Picture Heavy!) on: March 29, 2014 07:33:11 PM
I've been working on this series pretty steadily for just at a year now.  I am taking a break for a bit to let myself get reinspired.  Hopefully sharing the ones I have finished will help.

I have designed all 12 of the zodiac with zentangle designs and am halfway through painting them with watercolors.  So far I have finished 6.  Three are 6x6 and three are 9x12.  (When they are all finished I will have four 9x12, four 6x6, and four 8x8.)

So in order Aquarius, Pisces, Virgo (all 9x12) and Aries, Cancer, Gemini (all 6x6)

And FINALLY the last 6:

Taurus, Capricorn, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Leo (I don't know why some are smaller...I'll come modify the post later when I figure that out)

17  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Alas! Poor Yorick!!! on: March 04, 2014 05:24:50 PM
I really do love the Apple People that I have been working on for awhile now.  I did this watercolor for a Shakespeare Festival's benefit.  This is my DapperApple boy playing Hamlet.  He is holding Yorick's poor decaying apple head. Sad  Grin

18  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Black Rose in the Devil's Garden on: February 26, 2014 11:35:37 AM
One of my favorite things to do is go to a dollar jewelry store and harvest the awesome chunks off of sub-standard necklaces to make new and reimagined things.  This last trip I found a plain necklace with a metal rose on it and another necklace with rose beads.  Taking elements from those two and adding my own beads from my stash I made two new and amazing necklaces.  The one with the black rose made me think of one of my favorite songs called Rose in the Devil's Garden by Tiger Army.

19  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Elephant Woman (adults only warning!!!) on: February 26, 2014 11:28:34 AM
Eastern God inspired and based on a dream I had where I became this. She is my first work up.  I think that she may show up again...
20  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Who Stole All The Cookies!!! on: February 16, 2014 12:13:52 PM
Squirt Did!!!!

I am working on some of my own characters and this is Squirt.  He is a mischievous little critter that is somewhat cat like but much more intelligent (like cats can't take over the world if they really wanted  Roll Eyes Grin) and with opposable thumbs.  Here he is getting into the cookie jar while his owner, Talonpaw (to be featured in the future), isn't keeping tabs on his little friend!
