I have just ordered some 100% merino wool roving in 'rainbow' from ebay.

Looks like me and my daughter will be having much fun very very soon.

Ive tried both my local craft shops and I had to tell them what wool roving was !

Do you buy yours online ?

Its looks very fun , and something my daughter would enjoy doing too , just need to find a stockist of roving.

Just a note as I have tried this , make sure your straight stitches are long.

When I sewed mine I used quite a small stitch to begin and it just perferated the paper and basicaly cut a slit into it.

Id like to make some of these for christmas gifts ,  when the soap is felted , when you wash with it , would the felt be abbrasive like a exfoliating cloth or would it be soft?

Also how long do you think the felt will last on the soap , will it stay on permenatly and continue to shrink or will it come off ?

Where do you get felt from ?

Or do you have to make it , Ive never seen it like that before , just in coloured squares.

Id say you get about 30 wires at 3ft each , i have plenty left if you would like to make yourself a lovely brooch dear .
