21  Re: UK Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Loobylashes on: October 19, 2005 03:57:24 AM
Jojo9 has said I can post pictures of what I sent her for the swap as she is unable to access a camera.

She said she liked animals , particualry Monkeys , so I made her this monkey bag , I handpainted the Monkey on silk , embellished it with beads and then inserted into  a pocket on the front of this pink polka dot bag I sewed up on my machine , to go with it I made her a banana purse.

She also said she liked anything to do with the sea , so I made her some fridge magnets , the text reads ... She sells... sea shells .....on the sea shore.  hand drawn onto stained paper.

Then a little kitty keyring made with shrinky dinks , I also sent her a badge I made saying "I love Crafts" using tiny letters cut from a magazine ,I sent her a shell too , but i didnt get pictures of those.

behold the pictures................

25  Knitted bag ( fendi #2) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Loobylashes on: October 10, 2005 10:23:28 AM
As a second attempt at the fendi bag , I decided to cut the ruffle completly as im just not a girly ruffled thing person.

I also ditched the leather strap and made a more robust knitted one , lined the back with vintage fabric , and fully lined the bag with the same fabric on the strap using my sewing machine ( ARgHH) .

Also added a button that is functional.

Ok ive been so slack as Spicey sent me this luvverly stuff ages ago.

Anyway on with the pics of everything.

We have two gorgeous necklaces , I particulary love the purple ones as the beads are lush.  A cross stitch pillow , a feather keyring , a pin cushion doll and a super mario scrapbook , which my daughter stole as soon as she saw it.

She also sent me some supplies , a ball of cute glittery blue wool , which is weird becuase i made her a hat similar to this wool but in pink lol , some really nice vintage buttons , some fibres .   I think that is everything in the pic

I love everything , thankyou so much spicey  Kiss   You have awesome jewellery making talents.

28  Re: Swap Craft supplies in ENGLAND by Loobylashes on: October 07, 2005 07:49:16 AM
Do you have a picture of the fabric ?

I have a purple bag I made that I am willing to swap , id like some refills for my "badge it" maker  .     I know a pack of 30 retails for 7.99. Basically you will get a bargain.

Fully lined and interfaced , inside pocket , appliques made of felt and a patch of polka dots , plus a few beads.   i think this would make a nice knitting bag as it dosnt have a closure but its very room , and stands alone.

Damn , I wish I has seen about walthamstow earlier I wasnt far from there on saturday lol

Also I find alot of fabric ( Mostly vintage) in charity shops. they normally have fabric remnants hanging with the duvet covers and such.   Large items of clothing are great for cutting or seam ripping if you are patient.   I got a lovely vintage pillow case in my local charity shop the other day for 50p .

This is the fabric ......
