1  Re: Gallery of booty from the Sweat Shoppe swap AKA... sampler swap (round 1 ;) ) in The Swap Gallery by americandemockracy on: May 14, 2006 05:15:12 PM
I've received three of my packages...

First, a lovely stuffed bird from Mikawaya. It, like almost every small stuffie that I've ever received, is serving a term as a...

PIN CUSHION! AH!

Secondly, a great knitted washcloth...

And third, a great set of cards (one who has already gone to my pseudo mother for mother's day...

And earrings!

Thank you so much! I love everything!

I'm glad everyone is liking their pads. Just a question- if I sewed your envelope, how did it hold up in the post? Did it rip/tear/not meet to your liking? Please let me know what you think!

I received a while ago from BatGirl and Catpants.

Yah. I'm bad about taking pictures... but thanks loads, girls!

A fabulous embroidered piece of wallart...

And a fabulous plethora of hair supplies... Like millions of hairclips (only some pictured... Grin and a headband AND a wrist cuff (somehow, the wrist cuff escaped the eye of my wandering camera...)

Thanks girls!

Ahh! New set! The bag on this one looks better, and it took less time to make.

Okay. Here's Katie's last innovation. I really need to do another bag, now that I look at it. First try. Anyways.

It needs a name, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know!

Together:

Bag Close-Up

The entire thing includes a cloth pad with liner/pouch, a lovely cosmetic inspired case, and a mildly entertaining story about my period (that honestly does not cross into TMI!) and a 'fact' sheet- cloth vs. commercial pads.

Let me know what you think, and how much I should charge for it!

Okay.

Here was yesterday's crafty success: packaging!

Overall: Okay. Please ignore my lack of taking focused picture ability. Honestly. I'm really good at some photography... just not this.

And then a close up...

7  Re: Crafty Detective Gallery!!!!! in The Swap Gallery by americandemockracy on: April 03, 2006 05:49:40 AM
I just got home from a Key Club Convention and am so ridiculously sick that I shake when I get up. Anyways.

I got home, and I looked on the counter and... there was a package for me! From... I'm not sure. But my Crafty Detective sure found me out!

First off, she sent me a backpack, with information about her local saga. (SAGA, or Straight and Gay Alliance, is one of my favorite things. I love crafting about it, reading about it, talking about it...)

And, she sent me a cool little corset bank (because I make corsets!) and stitch markers, so I won't have to use my elastics anymore. They say cool stuff like vegan, Katie, SAGA...

She sent me a pointy hat... yay! I tried to get a mirror shot, but I just looked drugged, so...

And... a laptop case! It fits my laptop perfectly! and it has a rainbow lining!

Thank you so much, you mysterious crafter!

~Katie

Here's the swap angel package I sent to Kundi!

The lot...

I sent her a record bowl- not a cure record... I like my cure records. Couldn't see sacrificing them, even for craft. So I covered the top.

A headless doll... kind of sketchy. Anyways.  A zippered pouch... I cut the cure logo out of fabric. It's plastered in this anti-fray stuff that will going up in flames faster n'alcohol... so... it has a polka dotted logo!

And the inside! Candy, Cure earrings tea, a couple of buttons...

and

I think I might of thrown in a couple of postcards, too.

9  Photography- Image Heav(ier) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by americandemockracy on: March 12, 2006 05:23:34 PM
Hmmm... tech info. Taken on a 35 mm sr camera. Canon... hrm. Color film is Kodak, low speed. Developed Professionally. Black and white is Kodak 125 speed film, developed by yours truly. All were scanned, which is why some of them are so icky. That's it, I guess. If you want copies, pm me and let me know.

That's it for now! I'd love to hear comments/criticism!

Redstar13 received my learn to knit kit!

Here's a plethora of pictures!

Group shot!

Bag and tool kit (with all the stitch n' bitch essentials!)

The beginnings to a new knitters stash

Instructions- a clear laminated sheet (I carry one with my glossary...)

And reference- needle sizes, glossary, sizes she has... (you mark the needles you own in straight, dpn and circular with a sharpie)

And a kind of random book that I found at Goodwill.

And a pair of knitting needles. Not pictured, but still essential.

I'm glad you like it all, redstar13!
