1  Cuckoo Clock Geocache in Completed Projects by irid3sc3nt on: January 12, 2016 04:53:12 PM
I made this cuckoo clock!  It's actually a geocache inside of a library.

I obtained some of the materials from Michaels such as the box, the fancy frame, the "clock" part, the leaves, and the bird at the top.  The wooden parts were either painted or covered with some fun scrapbooking paper.  I needlefelted the cuckoo with some wool roving that was swapped from this site!  There are additional tiny birdhouses that are hidden throughout the library that are painted and papered, but this one is my baby.

2  Re: Inchie House Halloween Swap 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by irid3sc3nt on: November 29, 2015 08:28:04 PM
I finally have photographs of the house that elderflower sent to me.

Here it is flat.

Here it is assembled!

There's a neat effect where if you shine a light down from the hole in the top there is a ghostly image inside!
The tiny details are beautiful and I have no idea how you managed to get the cat to match up just right, elderflower!

Thank you for my lovely little house and I apologize for taking forever to get these photos posted.

I have received all of my houses, but I have yet to assemble and photograph elderflower's.  Here are the two that are finished.

From Wavelight SheridanLA!  It's a Halloween scene and when you peep through the window, you can see the kitty looking back at you!

From SheridanLA Wavelight!  It's a steep-roofed old stone building with a kitty in the window!

Thank you, ladies, for these teensy houses!

My last two houses!

Here is my wonky house from SonjaBoo.  It has a sewing pattern background, a nifty ruffled roof, and a spider.  The back has a bat and a big ol' chuckling moon.

Here is my house from spookygrrrly.  It has a orange background with black bats and uses ephemera to make the windows and doors.  The 13/11 at the top is one of my favorite elements.  The back has another little edition "For External Use Only".  Heheheh.

Thank you for my lovely houses!

More houses!

Here is my house from SunnyDawn.  Those ghosties are made from some kinda foam .. thing.  What are they made from, SunnyDawn?  It's the perfect stuff to make them.  The backside of the giant moon-with-bat is a clock.

Here is my house from thisbirdsabsurd.  I asked her about the ghostly images.  She used photos from her own supply and put mica on them from a mine she had visited.  Neat!  Both sides are so different that it could go either way.

Here is my house from PinkPug,INK.  It has a bat origami!  The back has a red-eyed big spider.

She also sent rinchies!!!

I'm going to make them into bottle cap magnets!

Thank you all!

Here is my house from Missing Willow.  She chose my theme "Gorey, not gory"  (as in Edward Gorey).

It's a giant bat!

You always do such a nice job on the backs of houses.

A closeup of the rose and bat.

Thank you MissingWillow!

7  Re: OTT October Holidays 7 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by irid3sc3nt on: October 01, 2015 04:53:27 PM
Aisy sent me a wonderful OTT.  It's a set, alright?

The jack-o-lantern with his frilled collar and metal/gear bottom.

The skeleton with her pink doily hat, lace bottom, and heart finding.

The witch with her ric-rac hair and sparkly potion bottle.

And, my favorite, the toad witch.  Aisy wrote me a story about this one.  See there was an accident and the spell went wrong turning the witch into a toad!  The eyes on this one are just gorgeous.  Real toad-like.  And there's a tiny mushroom!

Aisy, if your photos turned out better than mine, please feel free to post.  And thank you for my lovely OTT set! Kiss  (They're already on my metal door)

10  Another Inchie House Halloween Swap? in New Swap Theme Ideas by irid3sc3nt on: August 28, 2015 06:00:43 PM
I organized an Inchie House Halloween swap last year.  I was curious if anyone would be interested in another round of it this year.  They're inch-sized houses that you ship flat and the receiver assembles them.  It's a fun project... kind of like chunky houses but on a much smaller scale... and in 3d.... and you can send overseas without the crazy shipping cost that some places have.

Here is the original swap thread.

Here's an Amityville house I made for it.  Remember this is only 1/1.5 inch tall!
