942  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Pony personas on: September 26, 2014 12:22:44 AM
Though I'm not a huge fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I do love watch the show when I can and I think it's adorable.
Several of my friends over on DeviantArt have had ponysonas for a while and in July I finally drew myself as a pony, Craftina Stitches.

She's modeled after the dark ponies that draw Nightmare Moon's carriage. I chose the dark pony because I'm nearly nocturnal myself and do most of my crafting at night. Her cutie mark is comprised of my favorite crafts: sewing and crochet.

Suereal said she admired Crafty so I offered to draw one for her. She proposed we have a swap then gave me the design ideas and I ran with them, resulting in the beautiful Oddly Enough.

Oddly Enough is a hardy Clydesdale-like pony who loves crafting with glue, which she carries on her head, and googly eyes, which make up her cutie mark. And every crafter needs a good pair of scissors so she carries hers with her tail.

The colored version, which is more refined as the first was just a concept, is going to be sent to suereal when I finish the other item for her swap package.
943  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted hats on: September 25, 2014 11:37:51 PM
Hats that I crocheted for my older sister and her children who live in Michigan.
This one is for my niece, Phiona, who LOVES anything and everything pink:

This one is for my nephew, Logan, who only said he didn't want a pink hat:

Those two hats were made by crocheting rectangles which I then stitched together on their short sides then gathered and stitched up one of the longer sides for the top. I got the idea from a crochet book that picked up at Goodwill but I don't recall the name Huh

This one is for my sister (though I'm wearing it here), MacKenzie, whose favorite color is green:

Her hat started out using a pattern I'd found online but I lost it so I had to make up the rest as I went along since I don't remember where I got the pattern Huh

Prompt: September- Solitaire
Team: Fandom
Bonus Points: UFO Sighting
Project Name: Hat for Kenzie
I made my niece and nephew hats back in July (I think it was July) and started on this one for my sister but I lost the pattern. So I put it aside. Now that it's fall, I decided to finish it up so that I can send it to her before winter sets in. Since I still can't find the pattern, or remember where I found it, I made up the rest as I went along. It turned out pretty nice, if I do say so myself. The yarn is Lion Brand Hometown USA in Oklahoma Green. I hope it fits her. It fits me well but I have thicker hair.

All this Halloween stuff reminds me that I need to clear my desk (again) so I can sew my costume.
That being said, I still love it! Especially the sparkly pumpkins! Cheesy

I have so much stuff that I want/need to do but this makes me want to do more research on Thesiger and make something in his honor. From all I've read of him, here and on my own, he was a truly amazing person.

So cute! <3
Ooh and I want that adorable spider dress in my size. I'll have to save this page. Maybe I'll get off my butt and sew myself a similar one later Smiley
