LovelyMiss, there's another woman who does this annual community garage sale who ALWAYS has overpriced craft supplies. My aunt once asked her why her stuff was so high, nearly double what you pay in the stores, and she said "You're paying for the convenience." Roll Eyes
I really hope I can score some awesome craft stuff. I especially keep an eye out for embroidery threads Smiley

Yard sales are great for stash building.
I should be worried about stash busting but there's going to be a bunch of yard sales this weekend. There's going to be about 17 miles of yard sales but I'm looking to hit one woman's in particular. She has a huge storage building that she keeps stuff in and she's always getting new stuff in. She loves going to yard sales and estate sales all over the place and has a few year 'round for extra income. She's my favorite stop because she ALWAYS has craft supplies of some sort and sometimes has vintage clothing with nice buttons.

I had once read about the manananggal but never looked into it besides what country it came from. But when I saw the prompt for the fifth day was "vampire" I just HAD to look it up because I figured many artists would go with Dracula or some other really obvious vampire like Lestat, Louis or one of the Twilight ones (sorry, I only know one's name). She's definitely creepy because you just don't know who could be a manananggal. For all you know, it could be that really sweet neighbor of yours. Shocked

crazyda, I love the welcome sign and the Thanksgiving wreath (so many people forget Thanksgiving!) but I just adore that nerdy welcome mat Cheesy

pishaw, long time no post! But I love what you have posted Cheesy Especially that cute little costume. But is it a Wookie or Wicket the Ewok?

Prompt: October- Haunted House
Team: Fandom
Project Name: Manananggal
In searching for a different vampire for the 30 Monsters Challenge, I found a type that's a bit creepier than some of it's kindred. In the Philippines, the Manananggal is a female vampire who looks like an ordinary woman by day but by night, she splits in two at her torso and the top half flies about drinking the blood of men and pregnant women with her long, proboscis-like tongue . Typically, the lower half is left standing but some accounts say that she sometimes splits while she is in bed leaving her lower half in her bed "sleeping".

I went for a somewhat silly expression, as if she sees the observer and is doing her best to creep them out. Her wing isn't cut off: I ran out of room because I had forgotten about the Manananggal's wings. Tongue

I'm 25 but my grandmother had this game and I played it as a kid. It's driving me crazy that I can't find the name of this game! Tongue
