Prompt: August - 5. Wishing You Well
Team: Clan of the Creators
Bonus Points: WIP it
Project Name: Skulls and roses oven mitts
My husband sometimes helps me in the kitchen (he can't cook very well) but the spiderweb mitts I made barely fit him. So I reprinted the pattern just 5% larger and sewed these to match my skulls and roses apron. He was happy to receive them because he likes helping out and he really likes the skulls and roses print.

Did you use regular quilt batting, or some special heat-resistant stuff?

I used some regular cotton batting plus Insul-Brite inside them (the Insul-Brite said to use the batting, too). They're very thick and definitely heat resistant! My hubs was disappointed that they barely fit him, so I enlarged the pattern to make the next pair.

lindy, I love your essential oils' colorful bottles and adore that cute little Stitch card!

CLM, I love that little pea pod. So cute and simple yet fun! And that mushroom village is really neat! Kinda reminds me of the Smurfs' village Smiley

Here's the second pair of oven mitts, made to match my skulls and roses apron:

Well, I can answer y'all but still be vague: I was going to mod a doll. But said doll isn't in my doll stash box. I don't know if I left it at my parents' house when I moved in with hubs, at our old place when hubs and I moved last year, or if it somehow got lost in transit when moving from either place. I hadn't actually looked at my stash dolls in a while so it's a toss up.

I have thick hair so I have to wear a larger hat but my glasses come from tween sizes. I just got my hair cut and thinned out so now most of my crocheted hats don't fit! Roll Eyes I guess I'll just have to make myself some new hats Grin Such a shame! Wink

I de-stash a bit and my husband turns around and feeds my addiction Roll Eyes

I made these from stash:

I've had that fabric for three/four years, maybe longer. It's not a perfect match, but they look great with the apron CLM sent me <3

I made these to match the apron that CLM sent me when she sent a box of goodies for my little froggy Cheesy

This was a custom order from a friend:

He had a drawstring bag for his play mat but it was made of a super cheap material and was starting to fall apart. So he gave me the bag and asked if I could sew him a new one in the same Pokemon fabric as the bags I had given to our local gaming store.

YESSSSS!

I love seeing scaramouche's costumes!

Even though I get terrible bouts of jealousy while viewing....  they are fairly easily balmed by copious amounts of chocolate....

I second this. Your costumes are fab, scaramouche! I'm eager to see them! <3

Prompt:  August - 2. Folly Fields
Team: Clan of the Creators
Project Name: Chicken club quesadillas
I made these once before, about two months ago. They didn't turn out right then and still didn't turn out properly. This time was totally my fault though. Tongue They're similar to the chicken bacon ranch ones I made months ago but there's supposed to be pico de gallo on it, no bacon, and no ranch. I had tomato, but forgot cilantro and peppers to make the pico. I had the black beans that go on it though. And I used salsa in place of the pico. They taste okay but hopefully, next time I remember all the ingredients. Also, hopefully next time I won't split my tortilla!

Prompt:  August - 3. Cutout Clearing
Team: Clan of the Creators
Project Name: Spiderweb oven mitts
Project Link: Coming Soon (after I make another pair)
I had to do a LOT of cutting out for this one: the spiderweb cotton for the outside, the Insul-Brite, the cotton batting, and the cotton canvas for the inner lining/cuff. I made these to match the awesome apron that craftylittlemonkey sent me when she sent a box of goodies for my little guy. They fit me well enough but were a bit snug for my husband. So the next pair I make will have to be a little larger.
