121  Daryl Dixon fangirl shirt in Stenciling: Completed Projects by FreakieGeekie on: April 29, 2013 02:52:00 PM
My dad got me into The Walking Dead but I missed most of the episodes due to work. So I bought seasons one and two on dvd to catch up a bit.
Like a lot of fans, Daryl is my favorite character (one reason is Norman Reedus is one of my favorite actors). I wanted an official shirt but after buying some craft supplies, I didn't have $20 for an official shirt so I made my own with a freezer paper stencil.

Action shot:

Yes, I am a barefoot zombie hunter. And my eyes are closed because of the sunshine.

A funny little story to go with it:
My dad didn't like my shirt because he taught me to shoot and said "If there's a zombie apocalypse, don't hide behind ANYONE! Defend yourself like I taught you to!" Then I explained why I made it and he laughed. I'll post the why later because it will have its own thread.

Why must fandom shirts be so expensive? I like official merch but this will do for now:

It has a few smudges but I can live with it.
That crossbow was a PITA to cut out but it was worth it in the end.

I have a t-shirt on underneath it because it's more revealing that I intended.

Challenge: Dentention in the Dungeons- April
House: Slytherin
Project Name: A little too sexy halter
Project Page Link:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422819.0
Brief Description: I have made clothes for myself before but never using my own pattern. So I drew up a pattern for a halter top. It came out a little more revealing that I wanted but I will still wear it (only when going out with the boyfriend because he is a creep deterrent).

127  Halter top from my own pattern in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by FreakieGeekie on: April 18, 2013 09:49:57 PM
I made a halter top with my own pattern and it came out a little too revealing for my taste, hence the t-shirt underneath. I have since tweaked the pattern and will be making another, less revealing top with it later. I also need to widen and lengthen the straps a bit.

Like a lot of guys, my boyfriend will use his wallet 'til it's in pieces so I made one for him.

Here's the project page with more info on the wallet.

Class: Potions
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Boyfriend's new wallet
Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=422781.0
Brief Description: When I inhale the vapors from Amortentia, I smell Altoids, leather, and chocolate. A strange combination indeed but these scents remind me of my boyfriend who likes those three things. Like many men, my boyfriend will use his wallet until it's in pieces. So I decided to make him a new one. Sadly, my sewing machine didn't take kindly to the scrap of genuine leather I had, even though I adjust everything and had a heavy-duty needle. Not one to give up easily, I dug out some synthetic leather and fused it to some heavy duck cloth to make it sturdier like real leather.

130  Synthetic leather wallet (my first wallet) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by FreakieGeekie on: April 17, 2013 07:11:33 PM
Like a lot of guys, my boyfriend is in the habit of using his wallet 'til it comes apart. So I decided I would make him one.

I fused the synthetic leather to some heavy duck cloth to make it more durable. The trim is extra wide double fold bias tape. The ID pocket is made from a piece of a plastic bag (the one my comforter came in). It's simple but my BF doesn't like fancy wallets so it will suit him just fine.
I'm debating adding Velcro for closures.

ETA: I made my own pattern using one of my dad's old wallets as a guide.
