Just finished this custom silver commissioned piece this weekend. It consists of about 350 rings woven in a 4 in 1 European style.

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Cupcake Ornaments! on: December 12, 2012 10:24:03 AM
Thanks Everyone! eHinders - I was really pleased too with how the Snow-tex worked as icing. You should post some pics of yours, I would love to see them :-)
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Cupcake Ornaments! on: December 11, 2012 12:45:33 PM
I made these cute little cupcake ornaments this weekend.

Glass or plastic Christmas balls (I used some mini glass ones with mini cupcake liners for mine)
Appropriate sized cupcake liners - foil lined ones hold their shape best
Snow-tex or other thick fake snow paste
Sparkles
Plastic Christmas berries
Hot glue gun
Plastic lunch bags (without zip lock closure)

Place a drop of hot glue into cupcake liner and set in Christmas ball on a slight angle. Fill plastic lunch bag with Snow-tex and squeeze to bottom. Cut a small hole in tip and pipe Snow-tex onto ball like icing. Sprinkle sparkles onto Snow-tex and place a Christmas berry on top. Allow Snow-tex to dry at least 24 hours then attach a ribbon or wire hanger and hang on your tree or give away as gifts!

Those are AWESOME! Were they difficult to make? I am not a very advanced knitter (more of a crocheter) but these are just so cool.

Thanks! I was really happy with how it turned out. I am more of a crocheter than a knitter so I thought it was going to be difficult but I was really surprised but how easy it was to make such a great looking scarf! It's a great pattern and very easy to follow.

Just wanted to share a picture of a scarf I recently made from an awesome free pattern I found at  http://knittingpatterncentral.com. The pattern is by a Canadian designer, Annie, and her website is full of great patterns. You can check it out the January Cowl pattern here : http://jumpercablesknitting.com/2010/12/13/january-cowl.
This pattern looks complicated but it is really very easy and the result is quite fabulous! I made it a bit longer than the pattern suggested so that I could wrap it around my neck more.
