The cardigan looks great!

I'm in my first semester of law school too, so I totally understand how that eats into knitting time.  But the semester is almost over so then we'll have a whole wonderful month to knit and not think about law Smiley Good luck with exams!

I think any shade of pink would also prob look really nice with a turqoise dress

To get the neckline you wouldn't cast on all the stitched for the front when you start. To get a square neck like in the picture you'd knit for a few inches and then cast on all the remaining stitches.

Does that make sense?
