1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / my website is finally up! could i get some input pretty please? on: February 04, 2006 04:52:52 AM
hi everyone!  i have been working like mad on my website the past couple of weeks, and am glad to finally have it up.  it's definitely still a work in progress, but i wanted to get some input before i do too much more.  i'm hoping to eventually sell directly from my website.  all in due time, i guess.
so....any thoughts?  and don't worry, i'm not afraid of criticism, as long as it's constructive. Wink

thanks in advance!  Smiley

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / batting recommendations? on: October 18, 2005 04:56:57 AM
hello everyone!  i'm currently working on my first quilt...a celtic apllique quilt.  i want to hand-quilt it, but i'm not really sure what kind of batting to use.  so if there are any hand-quilters out there, what batting do you like to use, and why?  i've already spent 2+ months doing the hand-applique, so i want to be sure to use a good batting on it.  also, if any one has any other tips about hand-quilting, i would be much appreciative.  thanks so much!!   Cheesy
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / jamaican themed party? on: July 08, 2005 04:28:50 AM
so my sister and her fiance are planning on getting married in jamaica this winter, and when they return we will be having a very casual reception for them.  we would like to bring a little of jamaica to the party, since none of the guests will be going to the wedding there.  i've seen lots of things for luau or hawaiian parties, but i'm wondering if there's anything that would make it seem more jamaican.   Huh  anyone have any ideas??  keeping in mind of course, this will be the middle of december in iowa, so it will definitely be an indoor affair.  thanks in advance!!   Grin
9  UNITED STATES / Maine / art/craft fairs in maine? on: June 29, 2005 05:17:56 PM
we moved to portland 2 years ago, and i think i'm finally settled enough now that i'm ready to get back into doing art/craft fairs.  can anyone recommend some good ones?  or does anyone have suggestions on how to find info about them?  thanks in advance.   Smiley
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / question about checking your gauge on: June 20, 2005 04:45:25 AM
so i want to make this hat that is crocheted in the round (in single crochet), but for some reason i'm just not getting how to check my gauge.  it says 21 stiches and 24 rounds=4".  so i'm guessing that once you have done 24 rounds, that it should measure 4" in diameter.  but what is the 21 stitches? Huh  in the pattern the 24th round has 104 stitches.  i feel like this should be so simple, but it's just not making any sense to me.   Undecided   if someone could please explain it to me, i would be greatly appreciative.  thanks!!
