rickrackruby, that is a beeyooootiful outfit! Great idea and wonderful execution. And it's a great fit on your model, too. This is one of my favorite entries for this challenge.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Hey Craftster! What are your top 5 crafting tools? on: June 14, 2005 12:42:42 PM
Great topic!

My five top crafting tools:

1. Sewing machine

2. Seam ripper, which my husband swears I use more often than the sewing machine. funny man, huh? ha!

3. Nice big paper cutter that I use when scrapbooking, making greeting cards, and all kinds of paper crafts. I don't know how I lived without it!

4. Tomato shaped pin cushions. I have two, one I keep on the ironing board, one near the sewing machine. Vital!

5. Scissors. I have about six pairs of scissors, small ones, fabric ones, ones that are supposed to be just for paper (ha!) and pinking shears. I want MORE! lol
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Sassy PinUp girl tank - lace and bows! on: June 11, 2005 12:52:40 PM
"She's so cold cold cold she's like an ice cream cone!"  Wink

sadly, I was an adult when that song was a hit. sigh. It's hell being old.  Shocked

Love your tank top idea. absolutely original and cute!
7  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Re: how do you think craft challenge #1 went? on: June 09, 2005 09:12:22 PM
I loved the challenge! I even made my husband come and read through that thread -- he loved it too.

I disagree with the idea of adding tutorials. I liked the format you used, Leah -- just the entries, not lots of comments. I hope you start a clean thread for the Challenge #2 entries -- it would be crazy trying to find the entries in that already-lenghty thread.

Great idea, great entries, lotsa fun! That's my verdict, anyways LOL

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: CRAFTERS COAST TO COAST - SEASON 3 TALENT SEARCH! on: June 07, 2005 12:58:51 PM
I'm so glad to see this thread. I thought maybe I was just an old fuddy-duddy  Wink  Those silly gimmicky shots just waste time, in my opinion. I am also getting tired of all the jewelry making and glass art segments (but that's just me). It seems like every show features someone soldering something or on the other hand sticking something in a kiln. Not enough projects you could try at home before laying out big bucks on kilns, tools, etc.
but lots of times I've enjoyed the projects -- one that comes to mind was the guy who made the little zombie dolls. He worked in a mortuary, which was funny, but he didn't act like a big dork.  I also really liked a segment they had a couple weeks ago where a woman made a collage on a canvas, using black and white photos of her kids. it was an interesting idea.
And, no, I wouldn't wanna be on the show either, but mostly because I would NOT want anyone to see my "work area" -- it's my dining room table! LOL
