1  Vogue Patterns V1476 - Issey Miyake in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Taco Sauce on: May 06, 2007 07:26:55 AM
While browsing the Vogue Patterns site, I stumbled across this very interesting coat pattern.

Unfortunately yardage, measurements, fabric recommendations, and findings aren't listed on the page.

Has anyone made this pattern?

Oh, easy! I love that dress too.
And it is NOT a circle skirt (would be HUGE if it was).
Here's how I see it:

I could go more into pattern pieces and shapes but it would take forever Tongue

On a side note: I detest Mischa.

4  Re: modifying doc marten's help needed... in Shoes: Discussion and Questions by Taco Sauce on: July 13, 2005 03:18:29 PM
Hm, If you really, really want to make sandals, here's how I would do it:

The leather only connecting to the sole at two points makes me worry about stress. I'd have at least two more attachment points on each shoe.
I'd also cut some holes in the back so your ankle doesn't overheat ; )

You also might try getting them stretched, but this will probably not affect the shoes at all, seeing as how it's pretty tough leather, and it could damage the boots. They'll charge you even if they know it won't work.

5  Orthagonal Brainstorming (Help!) in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Taco Sauce on: July 13, 2005 03:06:45 PM
I'm scheming with this sweet cotton fabric I have loads of, and this is what I've come up with so far:

My main goals are to have belt loops on a diagonal (to hoist belt to proper rock star sling) and to toughen up the cutesy print.

Anyone have more ideas or suggestions?

I love that fabric! If you wanted to keep it as a dress you could do something like

with maybe some green or red (or whatever color!) piecing. Personally, I'd add some gathering or shirring since the fabric looks nice and drapey.

Ciao!
