1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / What am I doing wrong? (Stretch Magic) on: January 18, 2013 08:37:23 AM
Ok, another question. I am big into jewelry crafting lately, but this is my first project using stretch cord (stretch magic). It seems like when I go to finish bracelets the cord breaks, sending beads flying everywhere. At first I thought it was crimp beads (even tho I've seen a few projects calling for them), so I stopped using them. Then I thought maybe it was the knots breaking, but I realized it's breaking in the middle. Could I just be pulling it too tight? It just seems so fragile, if I go to put a finished bracelet on and it breaks. I also read in the instructions that you should stretch the cord before using it. I didn't really do that, but would that cause it to break so easily?
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / How to Unkink Faux Leather? on: January 14, 2013 12:08:48 PM
I bought some clearance thick faux leather cord at Hobby Lobby, just to realize it's all kinked up. Same thing with bolo cord. Is there a way to salvage this or should I just return it?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Painting Beads With Martha Stewart Paints? on: December 21, 2012 07:25:35 AM
Hi,
I really want to paint some beads with Martha Stewart's metallics acrylic paint, but I noticed it says 21 days to cure. 21 days!? has anyone else used this or is there a way to make the paint set sooner?
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Question on Sewing Yoga Pants? on: December 21, 2012 04:50:03 AM
Hello all,

I am a novice sewer and I just wanted some feedback before I attempt to hem my very long (but favorite) yoga pants. Since they are made of a cotton/polyester/spandex mix. I have never used a zig zag foot (if that is going to be required) so I would love some tips you may have so I don't ruin my baby!
5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Question Re: Fleece Cutting Board on: November 15, 2012 01:50:22 PM
I bought a cutting board at JoAnn and noticed later that it's labeled a "fleece cutting board". Does this differ from other cutting boards?
