since we're sharing our sexism regarding DIY stories, last christmas I was thinking I wanted to learn how to fix maintain etc my own car. my brother and dad are both pretty technical and can pretty much fix anything (I am deadly serious between them they should open a baber surgeon's, mechanics, computer repairs, cobblery, seamstressing, and carpenters)  so we were sitting around and I said "hey could you guys teach me about cars?" fully expecting an "ok" "after my beer" "if you get me another beer" "later" but not for every male in the room to pull the what the flip face and burst out laughing. I'm still angry.
