1  Re: Ribbed Lace Bolero *with pattern!* in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: November 02, 2007 09:14:45 AM
I made mine over the summer and just realized I never posted it!

I love the Cotton-Ease!  More info on my blog, of course.
Thanks again for the pattern!

2  Re: Summertime Tunic, IK Summer 07 in Knitalongs by knitchick2 on: July 01, 2007 07:55:10 PM
This makes for great tv knitting! Although I did most of this in the car...

I was trying for a soft terra cotta color, but as it turns out, the color is ungodly orange (especially in direct sunlight).  Has anyone ever tried overdying after the garment is all knit up?

3  Twinkle Shopping Tunic in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: April 22, 2007 12:28:41 PM
What a quick knit!  I used 3 skeins of Twinkle Soft Chunky in "urchin" and knit the size small even though I am NOT a size small, because the tunic is so stretchy.  The pattern is from Twinkle's Big City Knits, and can also be found in Vogue Knitting Holiday 2005.

4  Re: Ruffled Surplice - IK Spring '07 in Knitalongs by knitchick2 on: April 16, 2007 04:30:32 PM
I just found this knitalong---I've got the back and about half of one of the front panels finished.  I'm using Rowan Cotton Rope in "lemonade," which was on sale at Webs.

Here's the back:

5  Lace Hoodie in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: April 14, 2007 03:58:50 PM
This pattern is from Rebecca 32.  I used Patons Classic Wool Merino on size 8 needles.  I made just a few small modifications.  I knit the body in the round, and eliminated one pattern repeat, because the lace pattern was so stretchy. I also knit the sleeves to three-quarter length, rather than full length.
I have to block the hood again, but other than that I'm pretty happy with it!

I'll never actually wear the hood up, but the construction is pretty interesting.  There's a goofy picture of the hood here:http://flickr.com/photos/knitchick2/459065077/

6  Zip-Up Hoodie (with link to tutorial!) in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: March 13, 2007 05:04:06 AM
This hoodie is a combination of several free patterns, a little bit of math, and some top-down raglan know-how.  I posted a tutorial on my blog for anyone who is interested!

7  Re: Backyard Critters (Knit Amigurumi) in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: January 24, 2007 12:03:56 PM

I used the fox kit.  I'm still recovering from the cuteness.  Wink

Can't wait to check out the new patterns!

8  Cabled Yoke Pullover in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: January 05, 2007 05:41:59 AM
There was a tense moment when I was thoroughly stumped by the instructions in this pattern, but I made it through and finished the sweater!

Pattern: 2006 Phildar Winter I
Yarn: Frog Tree Alpaca
Needles: size 4, 32" circulars

Thanks to the Craftsters who came to my rescue with those terrible directions!  More on my blog.

9  Re: I need a little inspiration.... in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by knitchick2 on: December 21, 2006 02:12:45 PM
I knit Haley's Comet with 1824 Wool.  http://www.marniemaclean.com/patterns/Comet/index.html I don't think it was the merino, so I don't know if the yardage is different, but I only needed one skein for the smaller size, because the hat stretches a lot!

10  Re: Projects from "Handknit Holidays" by Melanie Falick in Knitting: Completed Projects by knitchick2 on: December 12, 2006 07:43:51 AM
I made 20 of the ornaments to give away as favors at a Christmas party I'm hosting this weekend.  They took about an hour each and it was a great way to use up scrap yarn, but the whole time I'm working on them, I'm thinking, "WHY am I KNITTING my own Christmas ornaments???"
