beatnik chik- I'm kind of the same as you with yarn.  I use really cheap yarn most of the time.  i've only ever used expensive yarn when I've gotten it as a gift.  I've been wanting to make Clapotis for a while, but I just can't decide what yarn to use.  I've narrowed it down to 2...

I've seen a few finished ones done with the artyarns supermerino.  I was thinking I would need 6 of those or 7 of the other?  Picking yarn is always a challenge for me.... Tongue

here are my two latest projects. the first is a baby hat for my boyfriend's little sister. the second is vinter lue from knitty.  i'm a little disappointed with how the size turned out, but i'll wear it anyway Smiley

over christmas break i got this book and then i pretty much knitted constantly. i did the sparkle hat without the sparkles, the hot head hat, and the big sack sweater!  i tried to do the chinese charm bag, but i have to redo it cause the handles were too big for the bag.
