1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / red is a great accent color for this black-and-white stencil on: November 12, 2012 07:41:13 PM
I screened this one using red and then green for the accent color of the hat and accessories. The red really popped. (It turns out the original color of the ensemble was red anyhow.)

2  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / stenciling: connecting the islands on: November 12, 2012 07:39:30 PM
I've been creating stencils by adding a mesh to connect the islands. In some cases it looks okay, like for this industrial stencil of an SF MUNI car. But with faces it doesn't look so great.

5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: QR code stencil question on: November 12, 2012 07:22:43 PM
If you have a craft or laser cutter you can use the application mentioned in this article and produce your own stencil. I don't think you could cut this one by hand. QR codes have too fine a tolerance for putting black and white squares adjacent to one another, and it would be too easy to make a mistake cutting it out.
