Hey all,

I'm digitizing a design in SophieSew for my Futura XL-400. Part of the design uses metallic thread, and that is where everything goes wonky. My machine just won't keep the thread in tension, so sooner or later everything winds up in a great big snarl of ultra-loose fibers. I tried raising the tension a bit to see if it helped, but I didn't want to break anything so the highest I went was just below tension "4" on the selector (machine goes 1----2----E----4 up to 10 on the tension scale, with "E" of course being the auto-embroidery setting).

Has anyone else used metallic thread for machine embroidery with an XL400? If it helps, the specific thread is Coats&Clark T48 (ARTD79), a nylon-core that's coated in polyester.

Hello everyone,

I'm brand-new to both machine embroidery and this forum. I have been trying to create a design in Stitch Era Universal by auto-digitizing a simple, single-color design with text in an image (jpeg format). Whenever I try to digitize the design, I get an error which states "the image is not adequate, please modify it and try again" (error 80040202 if that helps). I've tried to google the issue, but the only people who had my same error never got a response to their questions.

Has anyone else experienced this error? Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong, or why the auto-digitizer doesn't accept it?

Modifying for clarity: by auto-digitize, I mean using the "convert to embroidery" features like Art-to-stitch Intelligent mode.
