11  Can this pink skirt be saved? in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by funda62 on: March 10, 2008 10:43:14 AM

This skirt was a disaster from the word go.  I cut the fabric based on my waist measurements and adding two inches to the bottom and so on for the layers.  Well I seem to forget that I have hips and an ass.   Tongue  So ended up having to add side panels.

This is what I wanted it to look like.  What can I do?

Any help is very appreciated.

12  Lots of Layers Top plus shorts in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by funda62 on: March 10, 2008 10:37:37 AM
McCall's pattern 5085.  I would rate it average because the top is very fiddly and the instructions for the shorts are terrible.

I bought the top fabric from a Goodwill for $3.  I already made my sister a sun dress with it and have tons left.  The shorts material I purchased to line same sun dress.  I think it came out pretty cute.

13  Little Red Riding Hood Flip Doll in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by funda62 on: February 24, 2008 04:34:34 PM
I made a Little Red Riding Hood Flip Doll for DD.  After I found my very old and tattered one from childhood and saw how transfixed she was by it I knew she had to have one.  I was thinking of selling these (and other versions) on Etsy, but DH said no.  He doesn't think what I can make is worth the effort of all the hand sewing that goes into it.  However, this won't be the last doll I make for DD!

14  2 Pillow Cases = A Whole Lot of Cuteness! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by funda62 on: February 20, 2008 03:41:50 PM
I bought two pillowcase and a flat sheet from Goodwill for $3.50.  All of these pieces came from the two pillowcases.  1 dress, 1 drawstring purse, 1 pair of bloomers with ruffles, 1 head scarf.

Back showing pretty pillowcase hem.

Thanks mommy! Mwah!

15  Luggage Tags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by funda62 on: February 13, 2008 02:22:12 PM
I made DH and DD luggage tags for Valentine's Day using this tute: http://thelongestyear.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/06/quickie_luggage.html

On the interfacing I wrote little notes to them, then snapped a photo before sewing up.  I printed the photos on paper and used that to wrap the tags with.

16  Valentine's Flag in Quilting: Completed Projects by funda62 on: January 26, 2008 12:23:02 PM
Here is a wall hanging I did over the past few days.  My youngest DD was born on Valentine's Day so this is for her.

And the tut can be found at http://fredashive.blogspot.com/2008/01/free-pattern-valentine-flagbanner.html.

17  Two Dresses for DD in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by funda62 on: January 18, 2008 06:13:56 PM
First one was inspired by last month's Sew Beautiful.  The top is a synthetic lace and the bottom was taken from an 80's prom dress I found at a thrift shop.  She wasn't really in the mood to play model last night so not really great pics.  Also I still have to put the snaps in since I have mislaid my snap press since "cleaning" my sewing room.  Its for her birthday.

Second one I whipped up today from some scraps of leftover material and a long sleeve top.  This one is a bit big still but I think it will be great when we start potty learning next month.

18  What am I doing wrong? in Get Product and Website Opinions by funda62 on: January 17, 2008 09:34:43 AM
I made two very different christening dresses.
First is 100% cotton including the lace and has a slip and bonnet.

The other is a recycled wedding dress that also comes with a bonnet.

Both are listed at $50 and I've had lots of views but no one wants to buy them.  Are they ugly?  Is the demand just not there?  Should I take different pictures?  Lower the price?  Please honest opinions wanted.
