2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wow!! What a cash saver. on: June 23, 2004 10:38:17 PM
in an effort to wisely use my money while i'm unemployed, and also in an attempt to conserve precious natural resources, i've begun hand-knitting my own tampons.

hee hee. just kidding.  i knit up a sample swatch in stockinette for a baby blankie i'm making, and when it curled up on itself i just couldn't stop laughing.    thought you crafty ladies might enjoy a womanly giggle. xo - g

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / How to Lengthen Sleeves? on: March 15, 2004 11:42:46 AM
ok creative peeps,  i need some ideas...

my friend matt needs my help in brainstorming how to make the sleeves longer on this really fun and tacky western shirt he HAD to have.

the thing is, he's got these arms that go on forever and ever and the bottom of the cuffs hit him about 3 inches higher than he would like.   nice, huh?

Here's his email to me explaining more of what he would like:
Quote
Anyway, I really want the sleeves to be ultra long so even when I play the guitar the cuff will still be way down on my hands.
And in an ideal world I'd want the cuffs redone to be bigger so they slide up the hand and i'd love to have five or six snaps instead of three and a really big flare on the cuff with the cuff being in a teardrop shape when snapped... as opposed to round.  Know what I mean?  Kind of like a "french cuff"

Sooo, i am thinking that this sounds very complicated and i should forget it?!   How do you put snaps on?  how the heck do you sew a custom cuff??  Can you all think of other options here??

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Tunic Obsessed on: February 21, 2004 10:38:15 PM
ok so i was at BCBG the other day JUST BROWSING b/c i cant even afford one piece of lint from that store...

and i saw the most adorable clothing item in the world... it was a sunshine yellow and sequined "tunic" that had no sleeves but was shown over jeans... i would say it had an empire waist and came down about 5-6" from the kneeline....

now i am obsessed trying to find some kind of pattern that fits as such.

it's such a flattering length. any ideas???

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Basket O' Hearts on: February 01, 2004 02:13:53 PM
I had this wire basket i bought on impulse at Target for my plants last year... but thought it might be cute to fill it with felt stuffed-hearts for valentine's day.  (not that i have a valentine this year but it's better than having the one who i was dating last year.)

anyway, it's not super-creative, but it's so meditative to just sew hearts with pinks and reds and rick-rack.   i love rick-rack

9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Creating T-Shirt Iron-On Transfers? on: January 31, 2004 10:20:38 PM
Hey, i've got some great ideas for fun slogans on t-shirts.  Does anyone know what software/materials you need to create such items?  I am concerned that i don't know what computer programs you can use to print things in reverse and/or print on ink jet printers???

Have any craftsters done custom Tees?

Thanks-
