51  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Tunic Obsessed on: February 21, 2004 10:38:15 PM
ok so i was at BCBG the other day JUST BROWSING b/c i cant even afford one piece of lint from that store...

and i saw the most adorable clothing item in the world... it was a sunshine yellow and sequined "tunic" that had no sleeves but was shown over jeans... i would say it had an empire waist and came down about 5-6" from the kneeline....

now i am obsessed trying to find some kind of pattern that fits as such.

it's such a flattering length. any ideas???

ok so it's saturday night and i just got back from a DATE FROM HELL but that's inconsequential, is it not???

arrrrrghhhhh.

anyway, about the needles.... i am a newbie and probably have no right to say this, but DONT BUY THE LION BRAND PLASTIC NEEDLES.....

they are truly a piece of crap and may deter you from ever knitting again....!!!!!!

i bought some yesterday and knitted (with difficulty) about 5 inches of the "Ribbed for her Pleasure" scarf...

something in my brain said, "Gretchen, this aint right" and told me to exchange the needles today.

i now have some shiny grey metallic needles and although they aren't what the cool people use (apparently) i love love love them!

just say no

to plastic needles.

hey, i'm fairly virginal when it comes to knitting too but i'm dyin to make something from S n B.

i was considering the Big Bad Baby Blankie...

is that a good first project for newbies??

Also, back to the needles topic, are bamboo ones regarded as "the best?"

the book leads me to think so....

For those of you considering the "Big Bad Baby Blanket" I thought I'd let you know it's fabulous! A super easy pattern with great results.

Would any of you say thats the easiest pattern to start off with???

i've got the book, i've got the yearnin and burnin in my fingers... i'm rather new at knitting (previously only done some crazy round washcloths and a shawl).... but am dying to start something from the book!

is bad baby blanket the best to dive in on?
