those hats are so precious!  are the "streamers" i-cord?

wow, great job.  so cute. too bad it's almost spring. i need something less "wintry" to knit.

Question--when I started this hat last night (first time using circular needles), I found that about 1" down the knits twist once on themselves (more that just curling because it is stockinette stitch, but actually like making a loop, if that makes sense?).  I tried to avoid "twisting the stitches" like the directions say and don't know what happened...  Does anyone know if this can be repaired when I change to dpns or if I should just start over?!
Thanks!

i'm guessing that although it looks all loopy and twisted, it's probably not?  can you post a pic so we can see what's a-going on???

pluto-

i just followed the instructions for the baby hat as written in the book!  Easy Peasy... the yarn i bought was bright pink with these little light pink pom poms built right in!

then, when it came time to put the crown on the double pointed needles, i just changed the color to that sherbet chenille.

that's it!

i'm definitely making another one.  i bought 2 skeins of yarn for this project and could easily make another 2 hats at least.

Steph!!! you are so cute and your scarves are awesome! i wish i looked that cute when i was super tired.   lol.

i am making the Umbilical Cord Hat from SnB and it is the cutest damn thing i've ever seen....

however, tonight when i picked it back up after a long day of work and school, i had my circular needles all screwed up... and was a knitting fool until i realized i was knitting on THE WRONG SIDE!!!!

so now it's taken me 2 hours to undo something that took me only 1/2 hour to do in the first place.

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Such is life i guess.  *sigh*

hope i didn't offend anyone with my aversion to plastic needles... it was just that once i tried others, i couldn't belive i ever used el plastico.

to second meexie, i will have to give a huge thumbs up to the Addi Turbos... they're german and oh so tight.

it's like, if i can't drive a high powered automobile, at least i feel better knitting with "turbos." Tongue

i was secretly going to buy it and try to copy the pattern..,... then return it.
