22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wow!! What a cash saver. on: June 23, 2004 10:38:17 PM
in an effort to wisely use my money while i'm unemployed, and also in an attempt to conserve precious natural resources, i've begun hand-knitting my own tampons.

hee hee. just kidding.  i knit up a sample swatch in stockinette for a baby blankie i'm making, and when it curled up on itself i just couldn't stop laughing.    thought you crafty ladies might enjoy a womanly giggle. xo - g

p.s.  melidomi and feminknit---  when you changed color for the first (and last rows around the block) didn't you see the reverse of your stitches poking through?

ok i'm crappy at explaining this.... *sigh!*

i love the border colors on some of these posted pics.  anyone have advice on how to change color at the end of the row? do i need to buy additional balls of my CC to carry at the ends???

or do i just cut the ends every row?   yikes...

there is a Yo-Ya group i've been involved with once, if anyone's interested... we do yoga for an hour then knit for an hour!   last time we met at Toto's coffeehouse in Mission and just did the knitting part. I'll post if we have another!

hey kansas city craftsters... i am in love with this site. it's so full of beautiful inspiration.  i am wondering where the heck people get the time to do all these amazing projects.  anyhoo... it's summertime and i just thought we could use this area to post any area happenings...or ideas on how we can connect in the KC/Lawrence craftster community.

happy day!

jazmine-

this should probably not be in this section (AWESOME SHOWER CURTAIN IDEA THOUGH GINA)  I want to try it with that krylon spray paint...

but check out http://frugalliving.about.com/library/blvinegararch.htm?terms=vinegar  There are hundreds of ways to use vinegar... including hair rinse, air freshener, vinyl floor cleaner, sunburn cure-all, WRINKLE preventer, spot-free dishwasher agent, eyeglass cleaner, countertop cleaner...  blah blah blah i should shut up now.

i love vinegar!  sooo cheap, friendly, and versatile.  kind of like me...Huh
