21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / K the K?? HELP! on: May 30, 2005 03:42:36 PM
I'm working on a pattern that has [K3, P1 *K4, P1* to end turn
This part I get, then it says
K the K and P the P to end]

What is K the K? Also, it says repeat from [ to ] for 22 rows. Does that mean I will end up with 44 rows because I am repeating two rows, or do I only do repeat 11 times to end with 22 rows?

Sorry, I looked all over all the websites I could find and read my Vogue Knitting guide, but I can't figure it out!

22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Summery knits? on: May 28, 2005 03:24:12 PM
Hello everyone,

As you can tell by my name, I am very new to knitting. I have knit a few scarves and am currently working on a hat (I am about to start decreasing...wish me luck with that!). I was wondering if there is something that is a bit more, well, summery to knit. A winter hat will be no good over the hot summer, and I usually need instant gratification (I knit something, I wear it the next day). Any ideas? What are you guys working on?
23  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Bag from SNBN on: May 18, 2005 05:34:36 PM
I am a very (VERY) new knitter and I am finishing up my third scarf right now. I don't actually own SNBN but I flipped through it at the bookstore and fell in love with this one really cute bag. It is the one that is white with a green button and a flat bottom, does anyone know what I am talking about here? My question is: I've searched this forum and can find no info. on anyone doing this project. Is there a reason? I am trying to decide whether or not I should buy the book.

If anyone has done it, is it very hard or would someone who is a bit new to this be able to finish it?

Thanks so much for any help!
