1  Re: The X-Files swap gallery! in The Swap Gallery by samann1121 on: October 10, 2008 02:17:45 PM
OK, here's the stuff I sent to THE FLAKER.  Arrr.  I'm a little mad.  I'm pretty proud of this stuff.

Here's everything:

That's a Lone Gunmen stenciled t-shirt, a felt I Want to Believe poster (with glow-in-the-dark thread!), an origami Morley cigarette pack, some stickers, and a postcard with a photo of the Ovaltine cafe from "Jose Chung".  (Which ::plug for an awesome Etsy seller:: can be purchased here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_1&listing_id=9660884.)

Close-ups!

So there ya go!  I might make myself another IWTB poster.  That thing was just cool.

Oh. My. Goodness.  I just received from AprilJane, who totally went above and beyond the call of AWESOME!

Here is everything all together:

Here is the skirt (labeled "Scully skirt").  It fits perfectly!  And it's soooo cute and just my style.  (The photo of my twirling around giddily in the skirt has been omitted for your own good.  Cheesy )

This headband says "I Want to Believe" all the way around it, and the X/bow is a removable pin!  (I'm wearing the headband right now!)

Here is the glasses case she decorated for me.  The inside has nice soft fabric, and a little package of glasses cleaning cloths!  I'm thinking someone did some serious post stalking for this swap!   Cheesy

Here is my new "Mulder diary".  It says "Trust No One" in the little window.  Awesome!  A girl can never have too many journals.

Here is my mutant bee wallet.  Cheesy  With paisley -- my favorite pattern! (Well, besides argyle, of course.  Smiley

Here is my badge wallet (/passport wallet?  Actually you could keep just about anything in here).  It came with a DNA ID kit, and a bunch of completely awesome CLEAR X-Files stickers!  Too cool!

And, last but not least, the Lone Gunmen bulletin board:

The text says, "We never gave up.  We never gave in.  If, in the end, that's the best they can say about us, it'll do."  ::sniff::  Cry  I miss those guys!

Anyway, there you go.  I am completely and totally spoiled.  Thank you so much, AprilJane!!!

I received from uknowuluvit today.

A mug (which broke in the mail), a mug cozy to fit it, 2 coasters, and some Irish Cream flavored coffee.  Yum!

Close-up of cozy.  That blue is a great color!

Thanks!

Here are all the goodies I received from WYOKrista (muchos pictures!):

I especially love the pages from what I can only assume was a book about the It's a Small World ride at Disney World!  And I already have plans for some of those fabric scraps.  Yay!  Thank you, Krista!

5  Re: HEROES- TV show swap (send out: July 23rd) Gallery in The Swap Gallery by samann1121 on: July 28, 2007 09:26:28 AM
Alright -- prepare for wicked awesomeness!  S is for Summer totally spoiled me and my husband!

Stationery, featuring the symbols and some adorable pictures of Hiro:

And it all came in this folder:

That thing around it is a piece of elastic with a brain and scissors!  (I'm a big Sylar fan.)  I was wearing it around like a choker necklace all yesterday evening.   Grin

Lapel pins made out of shrinky dinks:

Sooooo completely awesome!  The snow globe one is the best!  It has the symbol "inside" it, and it says "Sylar" on the base, and it has a scissor charm hanging off it.  My husband's favorite is "Sorry if I'm a little out of it today.  Sylar ate my brain."  -- It's the perfect excuse!   Cheesy

And.... T-Shirts!  A Sylar one for me:

(Ya know, cuz he yells at Mr. Bennett behind the glass "MY NAME IS SYLAR!!!")

And a Peter one for my husband:

He loves it!

Everything is so wonderful!  This is definitely one of the best swaps I've been involved in.  Summer, you are so clever!  Thanks for being a great partner!

6  What the heck is my basil plant doing? in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions by samann1121 on: June 27, 2007 11:44:11 AM
I took a good look at my basil today, only to find this:

What is that?  Is it growing more roots above ground?  Why would it do that?  Is it a fungus?  Do I need to be concerned?  It didn't do this last year.  Is this possibly the result of using seeds from last year's plant?  Is it because it's been ridiculously rainy here all season?  Someone!  I'm freakin' out here!

7  Crazy Onesies in Needlework: Completed Projects by samann1121 on: May 30, 2007 08:54:40 AM
Ok, so they're not that crazy... I made each of these for a different friend/family member who was having a baby.

This one says "Ella Grace" (the baby's name) in IPA, which is the alphabet linguists and others use to write any speech sound in the world.  The mother was a linguistics major (as was I), so it was kind of a cute inside joke.

Blurry paisley, for a baby boy.

Barrel of Monkeys monkey (kind of?) for my brother's baby boy.  (I'm afraid it might have scared him....)  Shocked

8  Re: Yarn Swap for Rapunzel Scarf - Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by samann1121 on: April 10, 2007 05:27:16 PM
Alright, I've received from all my partners, so I figured I should show y'all the goods!

From (left to right) yellowblanket, cookies:

Yellowblanket, I love the blues and greens!  And they're so soft!

From Rowdy Vamp Raquel, KoreanCracker, and Moonlightbliss33:

Raquel, I love all the ribbon!

Thanks, everyone!  I think I'll be making the scarf tonight, and I'll post pics of it soon!

9  Re: House M.D. Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by samann1121 on: March 10, 2007 11:20:53 AM
I received from khraene today!  Yay!!!  I've been waiting for it all week!  Here's the loot:

Magazine (I do paper crafts) with an interview with Sela Ward (among other things), note, and funny little House animated characters picture (Chase: "I'm pretty."  Cheesy)

Lupus book....

But wait!

It's hollow on the inside!   Grin  I love it!  Now, I probably won't be hiding drugs in there, but you never know, do you?   Wink

Also completely awesome -- in acknowledgment of my great hatred of Stacy, a Stacy voodoo doll!  She has all sorts of horrible diseases, and I'm totally gonna add more.  My husband thinks it's creepy, but I reassured him that since she's fictional, it's not so bad.   Smiley

Me taking out my frustration.   Shocked

Clara, thank you so much!  It's all great, and I love it all!   Kiss

10  Re: Paper & Ephemera Swap R5 in The Swap Gallery by samann1121 on: February 08, 2007 09:01:31 AM
I received from SewKnitter a couple days ago.  I got quite the haul!  Check it out:

Random bits of paper, packaging, magazines, stickers, and a LEGO MAGAZINE!  Which is awesome... I haven't seen one of those in quite a while (since I moved out of my parents' and can't sneak looks at my little brother's.  Cheesy)

Some pages about classical music, some bits and bobs, and a children's book "The Water Babies" -- the illustrations are amazing!

Close up of the bits and bobs -- stamps from all over the world, sequins, butterflies -- fun stuff!

Paper!  Including...

Some cool Asian paper (for origami?) and some awesome awesome awesome vintage baby and graduation wrapping papers.  (This is the kind of stuff I swoon over.)

Stickers I'd been eyeing at the Hobby Lobby for the longest time (yes!!) and this incredible handmade paper -- yes, that's a real butterfly wing!

Some book illustrations, and sheet music of "O Canada" (how did you know I'm a Canadaphile??)

Some of the illustrations -- from "The Constant Reader".  These are awesome, especially since I AM a constant reader.   Grin

So, I pretty much totally made out like a bandit.  Thanks Cara!!!
