I received from you too, Homerof2!
Here is what I got from Homerof2:
I love that everything has a little sparkle/bling to it -it all suits my tastes so perfectly. I especially loved the pink & gold tag and the little burlap Christmas tree, I thought it was the cutest thing ever!
And from Purplexime, I got:
The lighting here doesn't do it justice, the flower pin is so pretty. And the copper flower on the clay pendant shines beautifully. She also sent a hand-painted envelope and paper tag that I could use for future happy mail My favorite is probably the tassel necklace, though I love it all!
As for Purplexime's butterflies, I don't have a tutorial. I was inspired by this post on pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/233131718190839276/
There wasn't a tutorial, but I just searched for images of butterflies online for the "top" of the butterfly. I cut out the picture, traced in onto book pages, cut out two from book pages, and then I cut the bottom of the pile out from black cardstock so it would be sturdy. So for each butterfly, there were four layers, shown in-progress here:
Then I glued the layers together. The most useful advice I can offer is not to fold them in half, but to fold the wings up on either side of the body like this (before you glue them):
This gave me a place to glue (I just used a glue stick) without the glue getting on the wings, so the wings could still be fluff'd up after it was glued together (and after being smashed to be mailed). Also, I didn't fold the cardstock layer, so the base would be flat for gluing to other paper crafts like a card. Hopefully that explains it well enough.
I had a blast with this swap, it got me to try out new crafts (like the butterflies and puzzle pieces) and I loved coming home to happy mail. I home everyone had just as much fun with it as I did!
