since my partner received, here are pictures.

I sent an intro to macrame/hemp-work kit. It included instructions, beads, hemp, examples, and two finished works. The instructions were to the basic square knot and half knot, plus an intermediate knot: the fishbone knot.

PS- there aren't holes in my mattress, it's just got a really thick quilted pillow-top. hehe.

here are pictures of the finished items.

6  Re: Paper & Ephemera Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by icrispyi on: September 09, 2005 06:36:52 PM
since i have the time, I took pictures of my paper. However, after craft_t_chic's pictures, my batteries started dying. I'm going to note a few things too:

the blue piece of paper with the dolphins on it is absolutely exquisite.

she included pages from a book published in 1970 about drugs. It's so awesome/funny. This guy is on "a bad trip" and he's got his head in his hands. I love it.

she included cards and things she mad as a young child. It was very cute and thoughtful.

this picture doesn't do justice to the wonderful paper she sent me. there's tons of vintage wrapping and wall paper, vintage cards, buttons... it's awesome. I'll have to re-take pictures of those things.

Since bobolink already posted pictures, I'm going to post pictures of my fave. items she sent.

First of all, I really loved the box.

the ship passport, pictures, and tickets:

and I REALLY love the fish bag... I know it's just a paper bag... but I really like it.

Craft_t_chic sent me an equally amazing box from cleveland, ohio.

here's a look inside (after I loked at everything. hehe):

she made an amazingly detailed scrapbook with pictures, paper clippings, adverts., and all sorts of nifty things:

more stuff she sent. Everything was labelled:

(LOVE the wallet. Haha)

and my new pets: Mexican Jumping Beans. I currently have them on a soapdish. I even looked up care instructions for these guys online:

Also, Lucy van pelt sent me a piece of Tampa Bay:

Also, want to apologize for the quality of my pictures. The flash was just too bright, so I had to turn it off. Thus, the blur.

here's the bag:

she sent lots of findings:

and then a whole bunch of natural beads, glass beads, and charms:

Received from Rakuette.

Also started working on, and finished that evening, an interestingly shaped can I sprayed with gray primer, covered with white "lace" paper, added leftover bits of Japanese washi paper, and finished it with three strands of mizuhiki (a colorful, thin Japan cording made from paper):

Quite productive, weren't we!

Wow. that turned out really nice. and Yes! we were productive.

Anyhoot, I recently learned (via tutorials) how to fold stars out of really long (drinking) straws.
