12  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: making pocket mirrors? on: November 16, 2005 09:37:51 AM
Dang. So there isn't any way to make little pocket mirrors like those (or similar) without a button maker?
13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: guinea pig bag. on: November 16, 2005 09:02:43 AM
That is too dang cute! I would love that on a shirt- with the same color combinations.

15  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: Velvet underground double layer stencil (AND A SIMON AND GARFUNKEL ONE TOO!) on: November 14, 2005 04:04:47 AM
The Simon and Garfunkel one looks weird because you used a paint lighter than the shirt.

this girl explains it really well, but to mee comes across as a little mean.  ah, well. http://img328.imageshack.us/img328/8052/inverting0do.jpg

I always knew that rule instinctlively, but I never knew how to explain to peiople why there shirts looked "wrong" without just sounding like unconstructive criticism! So thanks for that link- it clarifies perfectly!
16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Gift for my brother made out of a Garfield sheet on: November 13, 2005 08:00:32 PM
I know what I would do with a pajama sheet for MY brother- pajama pants. I know, not too original- but what boy doesn't love pajama pants?
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Here it comes - my version of the ever so popular boobholder:) on: November 13, 2005 03:44:56 PM
Wow, that is adorable! I love it to pieces! Ugh, I really really wish I could knit! Great, great work!
18  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Making gifts? Check these out! on: November 12, 2005 05:52:53 PM
Well.. you could do them for hot cocoa or coffee too, but I am weird and *love* tea...so I either dip in this rock candy-like stuff my mom makes, or white chocolate for chai tea.  I was going to use the chunky rock sugar and dip after the candy, so its more colorful..or even crushed candy canes.  I like mint... giggle.
I love tea too, and so do a few of my relatives, and I was thinking of making something similar- a tea lover's gift basket thing, and I hadn't thought of including covered spoons. I love the sugar mint and crushed candy cane ideas! I suppose I could include a few more to round out the holiday theme, like "gingerbread" and "sugar cookie" (sugar and sprinkles maybe?)  flavors. Hmm, I will have to let those ferment a while longer. Thanks!

Great idea!  They would make a great set with dipped spoons for coffee.  I'm giving away tea bags, tea cups, dipped spoons, and probably these now... Smiley
I am curious, what do you dip the spoons in for tea?
20  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: SQUID SWAP (Official thread) - SIGNUPS CLOSED; MAIL by Nov 30th on: November 10, 2005 04:58:29 PM
Oh Colie, I was half finished with your larger present and my puppy chewed it up last night!
Ahh, eight hours of work (and a pair of clover circulars) gone! It's ok though, I've already started over.
That's what I get for leaving ANYTHING on a surface lower than 4 feet...

Oh, that stinks! We had two puppies at once, so I know exactly how that goes- our house is just starting to become un-puppy proofed. I hope it didn't set you back too far- not because i am worried that you won't send out on time, but just because I know how frustrating it can be!
And so, on a personal not for me, I sprained ankle today. very, very inconvenient. Luckily it won't affect my crafting at all, since I purchased the last of my supplies this morning. In fact, if anything, it definately makes MORE time for crafting, since the other parts of my life that can't be as easily achieved from the comfort of my couch will have to be put on hold. It is times like this that I wish I had six more legs, so one crapping out on me wouldn't be such an ordeal.
