Let's just say I LOVE your room!!! I started changing my room over a few months ago from a shades of blue, white & green striped room to something pretty similar to your room. It showcases my love of New York with various pics (b&w & color), my love of Audrey Hepburn & vintage classic clothing and things. I love how you went with just the black and white, so classic. I've got more of a black, white & deep dark red going. It's a work in progress, but seeing your post has inspired me to get finished with the redecorating already Grin

thanks! I'm so glad it inspired you to finish yours. I didn't do mine all at once. It all started with one tiny picture of Times Square I bought at a local art festival. From there I just continued to buy different pictures and posters and framed them. I recently went to NYC for the first time a couple months ago and I bought one picture of all different street signs, but have sadly run out of wall space. I think I need to do some rearranging lol

thanks everyone! Grin

about the pictureboard thing shaped like a dress, no I did not make that it was a present from my mom about three years ago

i love the b lack & white photography too! there's something about it that makes it look so classic even if its not 'old new york' pictures - that's why i have the pictures of Audrey Hepburn up as well, she's a classic.

thanks again!

Before I made said curtains I had these maroonish/deep red curtains up and , well, it just didn't go... so here is what I made:

and, while cleaning my room this weekend I found an old martini glass so I filled it up with some pearl beads and put it on my dresser with my perfumes:

My friend's Sweet Sixteen is tomorrow. I handmade her a scarf and while I was shopping for the fabric, I found these cute little balloon buttons. I didn't want to go overboard on the card, but did just enough so it's cute.

I didn't do anything fancy on the inside, I just cut out some paper hearts to cover the stitching of the balloon strings, I sewed the buttons onto the card and made the 'string' of the balloons with thread.

I didn't put it in anything, so I hope it doesnt get the washer messed up - my mom would not be happy

thanks for the reply again, and Ill post picture when I'm done!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / quick felting question on: November 08, 2006 12:04:37 PM
I knitted up a bag last year and am just getting around to felting it [i wasnt sure because i liked how a certain stich looked] i filled my washing machiene with hot water and a pair of sneakers, just a secon ago, but do i need to put something inside the bag? so it wont felt closed?

i've never felted a bag before so im not sure if this is even possible. i'd appreciate an answer as soon as possible from anyone who knows! i dont want to waste all the hot water lol

thanks!

that is really pretty, the color looks awesome on you!

i personally think it looks good without buttons, but if i had to choose, i think i would be leaning towards the pewter-ish ones myself

I am a little late to join the bandwagon, but I just bought my supplies and pattern tonight. My work is the only store I know of that sells the magazine, and we are technically not open to the public until tomorrow, but they had a special shopping time for the emlpoyees tonight.. anyway I have all my materials and can't wait to cast on!!
