1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Handwoven Beaded Items (lots of pics!) on: August 09, 2009 11:45:11 AM
Yes, so I got into bead weaving two months ago using the amazing book Mastering Beadwork. Really, it is an amazing book. And I have been beading like a mad man ever since. .

Here are some first projects, where I was lovin' the peyote stitch:

Experimenting with other stitches, netted rope:

My love affair with twisted herringbone:

And now, my obsession of the moment, flat herringbone ruffles:

Also some randoms, a chunky funky peyote chain bracelet in bright orange with green thread:

And a simple tubular herringbone chain necklace:

Yeahhhhh, quite obviously I am currently unemployed and have a lot of time on my hands, haha  Undecided

Sari silk scarves:

a scarf i gave to my sister from clearance yarn at walmart (because thats where i work and i get an extra 10% off):

it is bernat blacklites

Some arm things made from lionbrand microspun:

they actually ended up becoming legwarmers? i tried to wear them at work but they wouldn't stay up with all the movement. .

annnnddd a single mitten made from manos del uruguay cotten yarn (i think):

i was going to make two but i've been wearing the mittens i made my mom last winter. i guess i made them too small. .

OKAY thats cool, thanks for looking.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / It's a frenzy! on: August 23, 2007 01:00:29 PM
I don't know why I am posting things all of a sudden. but here is a felted cat bed and a perfectly sized crate pad. I didn't even measure anything in regaurds to the crate pad. I just cast on and cast off when i ran out of the red fuzzy stuff. That was lucky. The lavender yarn in the crate pad is simply soft and I don't remember what the red stuff is. Hummmm the felted kitty bed was made with lambs pride bulky. I used the kitty pi pattern for that but I don't have the link anymore, sorrryyyy. You'll probably be able to find it by searching for "kitty pi" on google or whatev. I did several more increases than were in the pattern to make it large enough for multiple (and large) kitties.

bitty cat wanted to help model?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Banana silk purse on: August 23, 2007 09:37:23 AM
Originally this was made into unbaised from knitty but it was wayyyyy too shallow! everything would have fallen out! soooo i frogged it and re-knit it into this little thing. it is made out of two pieces. the pattern is the same as my plastic bag purse that i said i was going to post a pattern for but never did because i am lazy. okay cool! here are the pictures along with my little helper:

I don't really know if i will use it though, i live in wisconsin and green and gold means packers!!!! but i am not into sports at all. boooo i didn't think of that when i bought the yarn.

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / chihuahua puppy sling on: July 01, 2007 10:39:00 PM
i was inspired by the cat sling (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=108305.0) but i was confused by the tutorial. haha, thats right. . but i found another one and made one for my baby which she is sleeping in right now. hummm here are the instructions: http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/tubesling.html

and some pictures (sorry they are crappy and i look evil in some):

yuppp, her name is Lily Bug and she is 9 weeks old.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / bamboo sock-sized needles on: November 11, 2006 08:54:15 PM
i broke one in the middle of the making of the sock. . has this happened to anyone else? bamboo is supposed to be a very strong wood but it has done this to me before. i suppose it is the heat of my hands. i don't put very much pressure on them.

does anyone think birch or metal needles will last longer? i am pretty sure metal would but i would like to stay away from that.
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / knitted dog vest on: October 10, 2006 02:33:24 PM
i messed up the pattern so it is a vest instead of a sweater, it makes him look old but it will do the job. i closed it in front with a fabric flower i made.
