2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Monster bag swap on: July 09, 2005 07:42:06 PM
The "Monster bag" appears to have become a hit on Craftster.org.  I think there should be a monster bag swap.   Smiley
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Laptop bag swap on: July 09, 2005 07:36:59 PM
I got this idea from a bag my sister recently got in a swap...  It was about the right size for my laptop (but obviously didn't have the cushion needed for a laptop bag).  I think it would be neat to have a laptop bag swap where people could craft origional laptop bags to fit their partner's computer (any maybe whatever else they carry around with their laptop...  the bags could be made with pockets or certain desired features).

I can't host this swap now (I'm working on another one), but I thought it would be a neat idea for later or for someone else to host.

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Animal shelter cat blankets. on: June 03, 2005 11:38:55 AM
I posted this same thing under knitting...

I found the following message on a website for an animal shelter in my area...  I thought the same thing could be done for animal shelters in any area...  So, if any of you that love to knit and want to help out some lonely kittens, here's a good project:

CALLING ALL CAT LOVERS!
Do you love to crochet, knit, quilt or sew? If so, WE NEED YOU!

The homeless cats at the ARL need SNUGGLES! We are asking you to donate a little of your time and your leftover scraps of yarn or fabric to make warm snuggles for the felines waiting for forever homes. Crochet, knit, quilt or sew cloth blankets that are 10"x10" or 12"x12" in size.

The actual Snuggles don't have to be exact and they can be made of acrylic yarn or cotton in any color that you choose! The ends should be double-knotted and fastened off long and woven through the work to prevent unraveling. Snuggles work best when they are made thick, for they are then especially comfortable and warm.

CATS LOVE SNUGGLES, so if you are looking for a way to make the life of a homeless cat a little brighter, this is the perfect way! Speaking of perfect, Snuggles don't have to be. The animals love them any way they can get them - all that is required is that they be made with LOVE!

HELP!! We need your old towels and blankets for the homeless pets at the ARL. Please bring them to the main ARL: 5452 NE 22nd Street, Des Moines. Thank you in advance for your support!
