Thanks for the thrift store recommendation... I went to value village and the salvation army in polo park and got lots of vintage mason jars and clear vases.  Still can't find any nice coloured vases though.  That's a job for tomorrow!  Smiley

ooh, yeah, we have some mason jars already - a bit smaller than I'd like though.  Where do I get larger mason jars?

Can anyone recommend a favorite thrift shop for home items?  I usually just go to value village in polo park or on pembina.

Here are my inspiration photos:

- or mismatched clear or white vases:

Anyone know where I could get a large number of these in Winnipeg?

! I was just browsing this forum randomly - and I was like, hey, I recognize that cardigan.  My sister knitted it for me for my birthday several months ago Smiley
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Wall decoration ideas with tile mirrors? on: September 03, 2006 12:23:34 PM
I have 16 of these mirrors from ikea:

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=15573&catalogId=10103&storeId=3&productId=11268&langId=-15&categoryId=16076&chosenPartNumber=39151700

<img src = "http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/22964_PE107746_S3.jpg">

only they are rounded off squares.  I want to use them as wall decor, and have something really modern looking and different.  So far I am thinking of putting them up in one of the upper corners of the dining room and look like it's dripping down, but I'd like some more ideas Smiley

Check out this step by step tutorial with pics!  I'm going to try this out right now.

TFA - How is Frenchy's?  I've been thinking of going to the one on Barrington st, but it's a bit out of the way.  I highly recommend Value Village, I've found the best stuff there.

Also, if anyone has a desire to have upholstry scraps for cheap, Chintzy's has two huge bins of samples and remnants for $1 - 2 each.

I didn't know this thread had been replied to.  I thought it was set up to let me know when folks replied to the threads I started, since I always forget to check message boards.

I very much want to check out the Hen House, now that it's in the Hydrostone Market.  And I miss kin, on Gottingen Street.

Now I'm gonna go back and read this thread.

There's some great stuff in the hen house, but I can't afford most of it Sad  They had a gorgeous butcher block there a few months ago.  Also, some fun felted things.

Thanks for the Chintzy's recommendation Smiley  I've walked by many times but have never gone in.

Just wondering if anyone knows where you can get grosgrain ribbon in town.  I've tried the Fabricville on Bayers Road and Crafts Canada next door.

Can't help you with the bulletin board, but I'll keep thinking.

The yarn store is near the taxi stand, at the corner near the value village.

Oh, great Smiley  I can stop by the next time I go to Value Village.  Love that store.
