Here is my latest market bag. My brother runs a website about solar power & has been trying to get me to set up my own website outside of etsy he can link to sell my bag so I'm trying to determine production time & if they are profitable. BTW this is my original pattern

Sorry about the huge pic

33  Re: 50%+ handmade holiday presents 2007 edition? in Winter Holidays by motleycruiser on: November 29, 2007 10:28:52 PM
Last year I did about 50% of my gifts handmade & they went over really well. My dad's boobie pillow was his favorite present ever. This year I'm doing about 75% handmade because we are strapped. I try to do assembly line work for the "moms" (aka my mom, MIL, & soon to be step-mom). Here are a couple of the completed items. I'm still in the middle of all of them.

3 crochet washcloths
3 dishtowels w/toppers
2 boo boo bunnies w/soap
I might throw in some extras later

I got a great deal on casserole dishes for $3.99 & made covers for them
I may do matching hotpads

I'm also doing some calorimetries, scarves, chapstick keychains & pin cushions

I hit the thrift store this week for x-mas present yarn. The first completed item. Not sure of the fiber content the tag was missing.

I did this one on size 10.5 because that was all I had in my bag I took to work. 84 or 86 stitches which made it roughly 24in long. I kinda dig the stretch I got from the bigger needles.
The tree was just freehand crochet.

I made another scrap scarf. This one is more scarflette size. I thought it looked really cool wrapped like this.

Here are #2 & 3 of mine. They are pretty addictive. I have 5 menopausal women I can never make any hats or scarves for as x-mas presents so I think they will enjoy these. My first try is posted in the recycled yarn KIL I didn't want to double post.

CO 90 (fits a big mellon perfectly)
needle size recommended
yarn-cheapie acrylic

Ok so this one is kinda not a hat. My first followed pattern a calorimetry. I CO 100 instead of the 120 since everyone on the threads here have been saying how huge it is. It's still kinda big but I like it. The yarn was semi-felted when I took it apart so I may just run it thru the wash once.

it's really hard to take a side pic of yourself

Ok I'm sure you guys are tired of my hats by now but I have a new one. This was my first time using seed stitch & making a hat on straight needles instead of circulars (when I try a new craft I jump in feet first). This yarn is uber yummy, it's angora, lambswool & alpaca mixed in a bulky weight. Oh & my new non-taped specs.

I made this from all my scraps. I had 2 large ziplog bags full & I'm 3/4 of the way thru my second one & I haven't even made it down to 1 bag of scraps yet. This was made on a knifty knitter using 2 strands at a time & letting the knots show. For all of you who wonder what to use your seam yarn for this is what I keep mine for & all those short pieces you get when you start a row. I'm thinking of selling this.
