Phoenixfire, does Mew Mew look like anyone you know? I was checking out the rest of your Busch Gardens pictures and found a twinsie.

Hattie went to Austin recently. That is the view from our hotel. I think the one blob of lights towards the left is the capital building and the tall spike towards the right is the observation deck at the University of Texas but I could be totally wrong. When we drove through downtown the other buildings seemed too tall to see the capital. We went to Ikea and had the breakfast. It was fine, just not what it used to be. We skipped the turkey sausage. Then Hattie was too full to walk around so she rested in the doll house. We bought a full truck load of Kallax shelving. It was mostly a working trip but we did get some lunch on Congress Street and took a picture at one of the street murals.

First up is Nephew Tom for my Mr PotatoHead theme by yennamuffin. He's a sullen teen spudster. He just can't right now.

Then cmarion3 did a second card for that theme. Broccley took his pet Caulti everywhere! So funny! I can't wait to have a whole sheet of these. I'll have to post the family reunion when I do.

And blupaisan did this card for sketch in public. I love the light touch and that she didn't do her normal inking. I have a rare blu!

5  Coloring Page Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by rockingbearranch on: February 04, 2016 02:23:52 PM

http://www.openculture.com/2016/02/download-free-coloring-books-from-world-class-libraries-museums.html

I haven't bought a coloring book yet but I've been meaning to get into the fad. I am a big fan of the site OpenCulture. A recent post gave links to several museums and libraries who are offering their art as free coloring pages which sparked this idea.

Is there any interest in creating a coloring page or a set of pages based on your partners interests with all original art? I know not everyone is that type of artist but I think we could be all inclusive not matter your skill level. I would try to match like with like. Zentanglers, tracers, kawaii, digital artists, etc. If you have the technology, you can also send a copy that you have colored.

Let me know what you think...

For a small swap, create 1-3 original pages to be colored by the recipient. If you need to trace, use at least four pieces of inspiration per page.

For a medium swap, create 3-5 original pages including a cover.

Great cards! I received this fantastic elfin lady from WideEyedLife for my Valentine's theme. I think she could be a tree sprite. Her expression is intense.

I knew it was Jambie, Pink and ET as soon as I saw 20% of their respective cards. I just watched Matilda where Pee Wee Herman is playing an undercover police officer observing Danny Devito.

Mod, those color layers look beautiful. I bet they really pop in person.

Fluffypants, did you get it that the game is Twister? I'm not sure if I'm becoming an old person and some people may not know about it. Here is a flatter copy if anyone wants to print out their own. I was inspired by classroom ideas on Pinterest.

8  Princess Leia Starwars Hoopla Embroidery in Needlework: Completed Projects by rockingbearranch on: January 29, 2016 08:18:16 AM
This is a double layer of organic linen with a finished back. The back isn't fancy, just functional to keep out the dust. If I wanted it to look neater, I would use a lightweight cardboard circle under the center. The hoop is stained and painted two tone to match the George Lucas color scheme. He seems to follow a lot of historic symbolism from the Greek-Roman gods and I believe the color choices are in line with that.

This is my entry for January. I was going to do my house but I'm going to paint it in the spring so who knows how many different colors I will pick between now and then.

Side note...there should be a smiley face that barfs rainbows.

I am the princess of my house and I will defend it. I stained and painted the hoop two tone. It is double layered organic linen.
